Re: Bloody nose with kelp?

I have no idea if this could have any relationship, but many kelp

supplements have been tested as having high arsenic levels. I don't know if

arsenic can cause nosebleeds, but you might make sure you're taking kelp

that doesn't have arsenic in it, or take iodoral or Lugol's solution

instead.

Did you restart Vitamin K? Maybe your kelp is interfering with your Vitamin

K levels? Has you made any other changes, in addition to restarting the

kelp and thyroid essentials?

I have been on the K now for about 6 weeks. I only

stopped the kelp and thyroid essentials for about 3

weeks prior to testing. I have taken the Thyroid

essentials for a few years and that's why I suspect

the kelp. I took the kelp last winter as well and did

have he nose bleeds. At the time I had thought they

were related to a dry house because of the heat being

on. Now I'm not so sure. I do feel better with the

kelp, but if its causing the nose bleeds I will have

to stop. The brand I use is Natures Way.

I may look into the Iodoral, but I wonder if it will

become a issue with my doctor.

Lynn,

Is your blood pressure OK? Sometimes that can cause bloody noses.

But a more common cause is a lack of bioflavonoids in the diet, which

can cause fragility of the capillaries.

I take Country Life's Bio-Rutin Complex which has several

bioflavonoids in it. They strengthen the vessel walls so they cannot

leak, which prevents bleeding and also fluid retention in the lower

extremities. Also works great for hemorrhoids.
