Guest guest
I've tried several type of trace minerals. Since I take `Natural Calm' mag... I am currently trying another of Gillham's products called " Liquid organic Life Vitamins " . It includes trace minerals (tested lead free) along with organic sulfur, aminos, etc. As for Calcium I don't supplement it... I don't eat dairy much, but I sat and add up all calcium from what I do eat and I exceed the RDA now. It is in everything, a cup of orange juice and you have half the calcium for the day. I cringe when I see women take 1000mg of calcium regardless of the amount they take in from food. Excess calcium is stored as calcium deposits in the body in the absence of adequate magnesium, on top of that excess calcium depletes magnesium. My recent Red blood cell analysis confirms that my calcium levels are fine. My Magnesium is regulated separately... I sat and added up my magnesium intake from food and it was virtually non-existant. I now eat loads of fresh greens, pumpkin seeds and take mag glycinate capsules and `Natural Calm' at night. My recent Red blood cell analysis still shows low magnesium... a hazard of thyroid disease. --- Pamela <calblonde1@...> wrote: > Hi , > > What are the brands of minerals you take (both the trace and major)? > > I can't seem to find a good brand that has all of them. > > Love, > Pamela > > <kennio@...> wrote: I > was convinced that I had an underlying heart condition too. Guest guest
I'm taking this opportunity to ask whether there is a consensus concerning a desirable range for iodine intake? Also, since I'm new to this list, I'd also like to know if iodine comes in a variety of forms, and if there is agreement about the form is, in which it should be taken? I'm currently taking a product put out by NOW, called POTASSIUM PLUS IODINE, which contains, in each tablet, 225mg iodine (from potassium iodide). I'm presently taking one and one-half tablets for a total of about 335mg iodine. thank you. jp Re: Re: Mitral valve prolapse I've tried several type of trace minerals. Guest guest
I just got this article off of the Mayo clinic website that I found interesting: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mitral-valve-prolapse/DS00504/DSECTION=causes " If you have Mitral valve prolapse, the flaps of your Mitral (Heart)valve may be oversized or thickened. People with MVP are often thin and have curvature of the spine (scoliosis) or they may have defects in the bones of their chest wall. " I have this disorder, my mother and sister have it too. Yet I am the only one with scoliosis. I thought it was interesting to see that there is a correlation between scoliosis and Mitral valve prolapse: Does anyone else here have it too? Guest guest
I was recently diagnosed with a heart problem, I am not sure if it is the same thing, they threw a name out there and I can't remember what it is. I have spent a lot of time asking doctors if it is related to my scoliosis and no one seems to be able to give me an answer. I was told I could have surgery to try and fix the problem but it was best to wait until I was older because it only had a 60% success rate. I didn't even know I had a problem until I was going to have a neuro stimulator placed by my lumbar spine, they put on the heart monitor and started questioning me about my heart. Sadly, through all of my 'big' surgeries it was noted there was a heart abnormality but it was never brought to my attention until I had a much 'smaller' surgery. The surgeon for the neuro stimulator refused to continue until I was evaluated. I walked out of there in complete shock because after all of the surgeries I had no one had so much as mentioned this to me before. I am used to hearing this and that as it related to my scoliosis but the heart caught me off guard. Thank you so much for bringing this up, I have a cervical mylogram with my new doctor coming up in March. I think that him and me need to discuss the heart before we do the mylogram. > > I just got this article off of the Mayo clinic website that I found interesting: > http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mitral-valve- prolapse/DS00504/DSECTION=causes > > " If you have Mitral valve prolapse, the flaps of your Mitral (Heart) valve may be oversized or thickened. Guest guest
I haven't posted before here but i follow whats being spoken about. I too have a mitral valve prolapse. It is rather interesting that the correlation between scoliosis and this are not talked of more. I heard or this in the past, but never have i seen anyone write about it. > > > > I just got this article off of the Mayo clinic website that I found > interesting: > > http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mitral-valve- > prolapse/DS00504/DSECTION=causes > > > > " If you have Mitral valve prolapse, the flaps of your Mitral (Heart) > valve may be oversized or thickened.
