Guest guest
Dear : I had gallbladder problems for years although no one believed me until an ultrasound actually showed 'sludge.' I had it removed a year after I got sick with the AIH. The biopsy of it afterwards showed that it had been diseased for years just like I always knew it had been. Boy, was my doctor embarrassed that he'd never believed me! Kathy (AIH) Seattle area

Guest guest
Why is it that doctors do not believe their patients? I dont understand this at all. We live with these bodies 24/7. We know when we feel good and when we feel bad. we also have intuition about where the problem might be. sooooo dammmmmnnnnnnn frustrating! Guest guest
Dear a: Your symptoms sound just like the ones I had for years. They would never find anything wrong in the tests. My symptoms, however, were classic gallbladder symptoms. Sometimes the pain would double me over and I wouldn't be able to straighten up or take a deep breath for as much as 20 minutes. Sort of standing there gasping like a fish out of water. Since I've had it removed, I've never had another attack like that. Guest guest
, Yes to both your questions. I had trouble with it and the so called surgeon removed it. Turns out I had no stones (like he had told me) and he clipped two bile ducts and bile leaked internally. That is why, I think, my immune system went haywire. Guest guest
a, I had the same pain, that is the reason I went to my doc in the first place, after a botched op to remove the gallbladder the pain is still there. I am on constant pain relief for it. The shoulder pain is called referred pain, or so they tell me, they can't however, tell me what the pain is caused from. I too have Fatty Liver. I am getting a ultrasound tomorrow to >see what is wrong. Any input is greatly apreciated! Vicki Hi Vicki, I'm going through that right now. What prompted me to go on the Type O diet was chronic stomach and digestion problems. I think the diet stirred things up, because I felt absolutely horrible for several weeks. I was vomiting and was literally afraid to eat because everything made me so nauseous. I was going to a lame-o gastroenterologist who, for some reason wouldn't order an ultrasound. He insisted on an endoscopy/colonscopy. (Hmmmm...could it be because they run an endoscopy center and get a LOT more money for that procedure?? Geez.) Because he took so long to run the right test, I had a terrible gallbladder attack and had to go to the emergency room. Sure enough, that was the problem. I consulted with a surgeon who wasn't convinced I should have it removed. Mainly, because I have a whole host of digestive problems and he felt there was the possibility that my gallbladder is a symptom, not a cause. So, with the help of a different doctor and a very good nutritionist, I was put on a diet that's very close to the Type O diet, with a few changes. I have to watch fat content like a hawk. I eat mostly white meat protein (chicken, turkey, fish) and veggies. Just apples, as far as fruits go, and very few grains. If I inadvertently eat too much fat, I pay the price. So, that's *my* situation. Yours, of course, could be completely different. So wait and see what the ultrasound shows. Gallbladder problems are heriditary, mostly among women. If you don't have any other intestinal problems, your gallbladder may be diseased. Although, the trend these days is to change your diet rather than have surgery. How long had you been on the Type O diet before noticing your gallbladder problems? Lynn
Guest guest
I don't have a gallbladder problem, but a good friend of mine does. She's been on the " O " diet for probably about 9 months, and she's still having problems. I don't know if the problems are better, I just know she's about to do a gallbladder flush/cleanse with olive oil/lemon juice. I don't know much about the flush, but she says it has helped her in the past. She's very against surgery. She said she has searched the internet and found a lot of information on the best way to do a gallbladder flush. I was thinking about doing a liver flush, since I have a candida problem and flushing the liver supposedly helps a lot of people. I guess from the sounds of it, a liver flush and a gallbladder flush are basically the same thing. Has anyone else ever done one of these flushes? Guest guest
Becky, What are they going to do about the " sludge " ? Just let it go until it forms stones? Sometime I feel just fine, and other times, it is pretty painful. Today, it seems when ever I eat I get nauseated. I have tried twice last week to contact Dr R or his nurse, but never get a call back. Maybe I'll try to email him. I hope you are feeling better! , MI Re: Gallbladder troubles? , I just had some gallbladder problems. I had severe back and stomach pains whenever I ate. I had a million tests run and was put in the hospital for several days and the docs couldn't figure out what was wrong. I spoke w/ Dr. R about two weeks ago and he said that it was probably " sludge " which is when your body is in the process of trying to get gallstones. If you eat anything w/ fat or cholestoral in it, it will make it a lot worse. He put me on Actigall and it took about a week and I've had like one episode of pain. My docs had me on hydrocodone and I asked Dr. R if that was ok and he said yes. Anyway, you should call Dr. R and speak w/ him. He said that he had 2 other patients that had the same thing previously. Good Luck! becky in florida 12/14/00 249/
Guest guest
, Dr. R said that the sludge will go away with the actigall. Supposedly the actigall will eventually clean out the " sludge " in my system. I haven't had any pains in about a week or so. But, last night my back started to hurt and again tonight. Although it usually only happened when I ate. However, tonight and last night, I didn't eat, so I don't know whats up with it. But, the pain was no where near as bad as it was. I've been taking the actigall now for about 3 weeks and its helped a lot. If you still have left over actigall, I would take that, because that's what Dr. R is going to tell you to do. I called 919-479-4400 and asked to speak w/ Dr. R and they put me through directly to Barbara. She took a message and he called me back within 15 minutes. I talked with him on the phone for a good 20 minutes about it and he explained everything to me thouroughly. If you don't get a hold of him on the phone then definantly email him. If you wait too long then you will eventually get stones. Goodluck and let me know if you have anymore questions! Guest guest
Hi , I met you at clinics. My stay at the hospital went an extra day due to nausea which last 4 months. The patch saved me for the most part. I have done well but I feel slow. I had a five week plateau. I am sitting at around 167 down from 245. I really enjoy the inch loss. I am around 50 inches gone, so even when the weight isn't going I am still losing. I feel that I had gallbladder problems pre MGB because I now know the symptoms. The only thing that changed after surgery was the bile. I should hear something today. I want to hear how you have been, I wish I had known it was you, it is nice to put it together. That is why I want to get to the picnic, Say A prayer and e-mail me, Overman joeykris2@... 2/5/01 245/167/140?
Guest guest
Hi Becky, I took the actigal faithfully except for maybe a week. This definitely leads me to believe I had them prior to MGB surgery. I have stones and need surgery. The actigal doesn't help at this point. I hope you continue to feel better. O. Guest guest
Hi All, I have found that I have a lot less aches and pains using a supplement called " Supermom " tabs. They are a multivitamin, but also have detox ingredients like spirulina, apple pectin, etc. They also have high levels of B6, which I thought was interesting as my son takes Super-Nu-Thera which also is high in B6. Anyway, the website is ww.Beeyoutiful.com, and you might give it a try. They claim to be safe for breastfeeding and pregnant moms, which is why I started taking them. I find they give me more energy. I used to have occassional pain in the gallbladder region, too, but I haven't lately. Hope this helps, Molly wrote: There are 25 messages in this issue. Topics in this digest: 1. Not that I've ever heard. Just guessing here, if it did appear there was a resistance occuring, it may not be so much that you are developing resistant strains to the enzymes or other treatment...but that the enzymes being used as wiped out all the things they work best on. The remaining pathogens would not be so sensitive to those products, and you would need to get a different mix to catch those. Much like rotating probiotics to ensure a good balance. This is a different scenario than when, say, certain insects develop a resistance to an agricultural chemical or synthetic medicine because of mutation. . ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message 2 From: " mbrookh " mbrookh@... It took me until she was 15 to find info about biomedical, the vaccine connection etc. GFCF was a huge benefit for her - it still is! She went through years of uncontrolled seizures after a Dt booster at age 6. Taking gluten and casein out of her diet has enabled her to be seizure free and markedly reduce meds. If the diet is helping, keep it up!!! You are your child's best[sometimes only] advocate. I view 'selective mutism' as just another chapter of vaccine injury. Have you done a hair test? Guest guest
I have had a pain on lower right side rib cage and radiates around the back. Also, sometimes it radiates up the right side toward my chest. I have had it for 18 months. Have had ultra sounds and 2 Hida Scans done with negative results. Sometimes I can hardly stand the pain and is severely affecting my life. Surgeons won't agree to operate on the gallbladder because nothing is showing up on tests. Can there be problems with the gallbladder or gallbladder stones without it showing up on utrasounds or hida scans? Can you give me any suggestions on where I can go next.Thanks. Guest guest
I need to add something here. It is very possible to have something wrong with the gallbladder (or liver) and not have it picked up on the scans. While the scans will show problems, problems are missed by these types of scans all the time. It is classic to have some type of medical test performed, to have the result negative, and to then have the medical establishment assume because they did not see it that no problem exists. The " arrogant ignorance " of science. 's symptoms are classic of liver/gallbladder dysfunction. This does not mean that this is the problem but it must not be discounted on the basis of the below tests. The fact that the surgeons will not operate based on the results may be a blessing in disguise. Further testing may be in order. However, many people have had relief from similar situations by doing liver/gallbladder detox and support. It is unlikely that this would be contraindicated. What do the doctors think the problem is since all these tests have come out negative? -Dave Hi , I have had ultrasound and Hida Scan, too. Although you probably can't be 100% certain, based on the explanations that I got from my doctor and from the nurse & technician who administered the tests, it seems that having both of these would pick up any gallbladder problems. Since you've had multiple tests, you should feel fairly confident that your problem is something else. I don't have any stones, just sludge, and even that was picked up on the ultrasound. What is your doctor recommending you do at this point? Have you had other tests, such as X-rays, done? Have you considered seeing a chiropractor? They are amazingly good at diagnosing and correcting all kinds of problems. I recently learned that they can even treat an ear infection simply with an adjustment -- no antibiotics necessary. BTW, I'm curious as to how you got your insurance company to pay for a second Hida Scan. When my doctor recommended surgery, I told him that I'd prefer to first try to treat the problem myself, and that I'd like to get another Hida Scan after 6 months or a year to see if there was any improvement. His response was that my insurance company would be unlikely to pay for another Hida Scan.
