Guest guest
Kem: I am glad that you didn't have to PB the fish up. That is the good news. The bad news is if you are like most of us old bandsters, you will make bad choices in the future too. It is so darn hard to change habits and keep your brain in bandster gear. My band is over a year old and I have lost 90 pounds, however, last night after a few bites my dinner got stuck. Why?? Well, because I had been eating grapes with the skins on and my pouch was full. Why did I try to eat dinner.... because it was time and my hubby was eating. It is hard to listen to your body when your brain does not want to behave. So, remember to follow the eating phase for now.. you do not want to damage anything and every day you have to remember to listen to your body and make that " fat brain " be quiet. He caught a 28 inch 7 lb steelhead and brought it home. He cooked it up tonight and I ate some of it..whole. I'm still in liquid phase and could not see putting it in a blender because the thought of it grossed me out. Anyway, I ate about 2 oz. of it with some tarter sauce and some thinned out veggies. After about 5 bites I knew I'd done wrong..just got a weird feeling down the old gullet. I can't chew the fish down properly and that tarter sauce had little chunks of pickle in..it felt like a chunk of something was in my chest so I stopped. No PB or anything, just that feeling of a chunk in my chest. Anyway, that was 3 hours ago, I'm fine now but learned a valuable lesson NOT to be tempted by eating out of whatever phase I'm supposed to be in at the time. Back to good ol yogurt and soups tomorrow;-) Kem in Eugene 286/273/150 Dr. Neal 8.6.04 <º)))>< _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Guest guest
Valuable lesson learned, Kem. I learned that one on thinking I could have clam chowder on day seven. Full liquids were OK for me, but I figured those little pieces of clam would be " no problem " . Wrong. I still avoid clams, though I love them, since it is almost impossible to " chew them into mush " the way you can many other things. They're just to tough and rubbery, and won't go thru my tight band. dan Sunday, August 22, 2004, 11:44:29 PM, you wrote: KT> it felt like a KT> chunk of something was in my chest so I stopped. Guest guest
One thing that I really craved when on the liquid phase was crab. It just sounded soooo good to me as I consumed my V8 juice. What I ended up doing was purchasing a crab charm for my weight loss charm bracelet. For every 10 lbs gone, I reward myself with a new charm. That crab was my first charm. And the funny thing is, once on solids I didn't crave crab. It's funny what we crave when we can't have it. The reality is never as good as the fantasy!
