Guest guest
Patients who have undergone weight-loss surgery, even though they may have lost 100 pounds or more, engaged in poorer eating and exercise habits compared with obese people who lost the same amount of weight through diet and exercise, a recent study has found. This study looked at Bypass patients and non-surgical patients and compared them. BANDSTERS, who have to work for their loss like the non-surgical patients here, are much more likely to be able to keep the weight off, if they continue their better habits re diet and exercise. more info in video: http://www.empowereddoctor.com/bariatric-surgery-patients-lead-comparatively-unh\ ealthy-lifestyle

I know too many bandsters who also think the band is magic and will solve all their problems by itself. Some on this board have posted that kind of thing over the years. Yes, the band will help, as will a bypass, but either one can be " eaten around " and anyone can ignore exercise. It is still vital to learn NEW HABITS and you have to KEEP ON KEEPING ON forever. I know. Even after six years I struggle at times. One of them was tonite eating at the evil Cracker Barrel. (Yes, you CAN eat healthily there, but it isn't easy, and I failed at it tonite) But tomorrow is another day. dan -- " It's OK to be a little broken, everybody's broken in this life " Jon Bon Jovi Dan Lester, Boise, Idaho, USA www.riverofdata.com/lapband Banded 4/27/03, Dr. Ortiz, Tijuana Started at 355, at goal in the 210-220 range for almost 4 years Ultimate goal of 195 Tummytuck in Boise and SmartLipo in Tijuana
