I have a had the lapband myself and am very thankful to say I love

it have have been blessed to have lost 126 pounds within 11 months.

My 1-year WLS anniversary date is 2/27/2005.

I have a friend needing to have the lap band too, her insurance

company is giving her heck and she wants the lap band because it is

less invasive, less risky, etc. They have approved for her to get

the rou-en-y surgery but not the lap band. What we need now is a

list of risks/complications of rou-en-y versus lap band to turn into

them proving that lap band is the safer choice for her.

She weighs 350+(not sure exactly) I am also wondering if this is the

reason (too high weight) for them to not approve the lap band, will

they not do the lapband over a certain weight?

Any websites to help on this would be appreciated. Thanks so much

for any info you may have on this.

Thanks
