Guest guest
I got a kick out of the adult party thread. I love kids and babies, but I admit to enjoying some adult time too. I pretty much think of banding as an adult subject, my kids are not the least bit interested in discussing banding issues, but I am starving for stories, info and inspiration whenever I am with bandsters. That is one reason I hoped to entice everyone in the Pacific Northwest to join us West Sound Bandsters for a Holiday Brunch Dec. 14th at the new Clearwater Casino. Jessie, you know I am hoping to meet you before I get to my goal weight-haha. While children are welcome in the dining room, they are not permitted anywhere else in the casino. There is full bar, you can smoke(Except in dining areas),gamble, drink, take xanax or whatever makes you merry (Designated drivers? Does anyone have a hookah?). There is a free shuttle from the Seattle/Bainbridge Island Ferry (About a 10 minute ride). If you all get wild and crazy, well, hell, I just might break out and join you. I am watching successful people with the band. , Elma and Jo in Silverdale have all been around awhile, supporting newbies. Just recently Jessie said that peer support can be most helpful for people seeking success. Whenever I am around these successful people, I get excited and motivated. I am literally a sponge, absorbing all I can learn about success and getting a grip on the issues and emotions that have arisen since I got banded. I have learned so much from others. I got to have a very uplifting conversation with at the Halloween Party yesterday, it was so nice, cause last week I had been through my worst emotional roller coaster and first illness since getting banded. I also want to give a shout out to Myshalla, great job on the Halloween Party, what a lovely hall. Thanks for your time and energy on this, I had a blast. I hope you can get your life back to calm and orderly soon. You are such a sweetie! Have a nice Monday folks, Jan
Guest guest
Jan, that is so funny. I'm glad Trent had a good time and also that his sister let him party with her and her friends all night. Sound like the type of party I would like to attend myself! I know whenever we have friends over, can hang as late as the rest of us. He can be dog-tired, but stay up until the last person leaves. So Trent likes beer? LOL. Does he act sillier when he drinks it? I have a few more years than you with and beer......drinking age hear is 21. Whew! Guest guest
Hi Sounds like the kids all had a great time with the party. Our kids have never had an overnight party or anything like that but last night at the Fireworks Display, a little girl came up to Kristi and gave her her phone number and invited herself over for an overnight stay. I don't know if Kristi is ready to be a hostess yet. She can be gregarious but sometimes she has these unsociable spells too. Dad to , Kristi, (all three Down syndrome and with multiple diagnoses) and (Cri du chat and other neurological issues) Husband to C. in Mo. Uncle Daddy to and in California (Down syndrome) Re: Partying > Jan, that is so funny. I'm glad Trent had a good time and also that his sister let him party with her and her friends all night. Guest guest
The legal drinking age here is 18 - learners driving permit 16 - probabtionary drivers licence 18 - great combination turn 18 pass your drivers licence and go out and celebrate that night!!! One thing though it is illegal for a " P " plater to drive with a blood alcohol reading. Full licence after three years of driving. Trent really just likes being one of the gang - not sure just how much he drinks and how much is tipped out - also the beer he drinks is low alcohol. Most of our socialising is done at the local cricket club during the summer months, where the guys drink out of the bottle - Trent hasn't fine tuned that art - so he does drink rather slowly, and no-one in their right mind would ever share a drink with him!!! Sometimes he can be a bit sillier than normal, but not sure if it is the alcohol or him just being hyped up by the occassion and others stirring him. I think he is more like his mother than his father when it comes to drinking - doesn't like the feeling of not being 'normal'. Keep smiling Jan mother of Trent, 19 yo w/DS (nearly 20), from the Land of Oz. In , jbocci55@c... wrote: > Jan, that is so funny.
