time) tried several different meds on him and this is what worked best .. at that time. This helps him with

At this point, I wouldn't call him a " danger " to society .. but he

has had (recent) problems with the law (several misdemeanors) since this past

spring. He began stealing (I guess that does mean

" danger " ??) after he lost his job! Which floored us,

'cause he is not " wanting " for anything .. except for

" friends " . We believe that he has to " pay " in a lot

of different ways to keep his so called " friends " . There was

never ever any legal issues before this past spring/summer .. and now all of a

Kallie, Yes, he was tested several years ago. He had 23 food allergies. The "discovering" of the allergies did no good, 'cause my son refuses to try to stay away from any of those foods. He has a lower (borderline IQ) and I don't know if he can't or doesn't want to "get" what both the Dr. and I have tried to impress upon him. It's too bad that I did not find out about the allergies when he was younger, when I had more control of what he eats. I will be reading up on the site links that you included in this post. I have an adopted brother who we think now was probably an alcohol syndrome baby. He has been diagnosed with among other things, with schizophrenia and was also advised to follow a particular dietary regimen (back in the 70s). Because of his lower IQ and just plain stubbornness he wouldn't take the supplements or follow the diet.He's in his sixties now. Has had four major heart surgeries (smoking didn't help) and is an amputee, has IBS and depression. As much as he's abused his body, we are all amazed that he's lived this long!It's sad. It could have been prevented or at least helped a whole lot. But this is the result of his actions that no one could have changed but he, himself. I have felt a mixture of sympathy and anger about his situation. It's tough not only on him, but on the entire family...even the community at large.My heart goes out to you Glo.Glory Near
