Dear Ruth,

Sorry to hear of your pain and all that is happening. Where is it in

Oregon that you live? I know that there is a transplant clinic in Portland

so your dr. could refer you there for an evaluation. I can't remember at the

moment the name of the clinic but it is probably related to a large med

center. I have heard of good treatment and success there - my GI actually

mentioned it as a possibility for me when a had a really upsetting experience

at the U of WA.

Good luck!

Amy

Roxanne, my daughter does have that bacteria present that you mentioned what was

it I can treat that with? I have her on probotics, and getting ready to start

peptizyde on sunday. I am introducing one new thing every two weeks we are also

off of dairy. Her levels for diary, and gluten were not very high so I am

starting to wonder if maybe I should focus somewhere else other than the gf/cf?

Right after my first implant, I was not interested in a second one either. I was

in great awe of being able to hear, very happy and content. I even told dr. I

was content and not interested. But a year and half later when I found out that

I could have a second one, I thought why not? I felt guilty for being able to

have two but was eager to hear even better. I'll put it this way, If you were

blind and you were able to see again, like trees, building etc, you would be so

happy, but than if someone came along and gave you a pair of glasses, and you

were than able to see that the tree had leaves and the building had windows, you

would be seeing so much more. That is my experience with the second implant.

(not that I have 20-20 hearing) I also find that my first implant is doing a

better job as if they want to work together. They do have a little different

sound, one gives more high and the other more low sound. But this makes a more

all around better sound. I can now hear and

understand tv without closed caption that I could not very well with just one.

When the batteries go out with one, I just keep on ticking. I can locate sound

better. I know that not everyone has the same experience.

May happy with two

Hello in SC,

After reading your message, I was recalling what it was like to hear

before and after the implant. I had couple hearing aids, so I came

up a question for you. Do you have a hearing aid, and does it help

you " hear " something? Just curious.

Back to my story, I remembered what it was like to hear with the

hearing aids. I could hear well enough from one on my right ear,

but I couldn't quite understand from the other on my left ear.

Needless to say, I could hear the environmental sounds, and didn't

know that there were more sounds that I couldn't detect with the

hearing aids. I thought they were good enough that allowed me to

carry a conversation with my counterparts; but I didn't know any

better until I got the implant!

Hello Everyone

I have learnt so much from you all over the last year - it is wonderful to

learn from all your sharing of your experiences.

I would also like to let people know that I have learnt a tremendous amount

from DrLowe.com

There is masses and masses of information for us all here; to do with

breathing problems, pains throught the body, depression, etc, etc. I urge

everyone here to learn from his website. I have bought his small book too -

Your Guide to Metabolic Health. There are so many illnesses that he maintains

are the result of a shortage of thyroid hormone. Also, he does insists that T4

on its own is not enough for most people and they need to gradually add higher

and higher doses of T3.

All the best and warm wishes to everyone.

Nora.

The highest dosage I was on was 3 grains and it was decreased by a holistic

MD...felt it was too high although he in turn talked me in to by a mess load of

his supplements!

So you really think I should be on 5 grains? I would be willing to try

it...anything to get my life back!

You also said I need iodine...I will check into that. I have also decided to

make an appointment with Dr. Brownstein...I feel more comfortable seeing a

doctor that someone has recommended.

Thank you!

Gracia wrote:

Why oh why oh why would you be on 2 grains Armour? you will need much much

more, and also iodine. (all stuff you should have had in the first place).

In Michigan there is a Dr. Brownstein, has written several books and

is great. Although you will have a wait to see him, he is worth it.
