thx for posting your good results!

I'm currently using Lugol's on an area along my jawline that

is " localized myxedema " . It's quite interesting to see how

it's " drawing up " the area and appears to be " scaling off " the

thickened top layer. Very much like Derry describes...like a snake

shedding its skin. :-) I'm expecting new pink skin underneath too!

I've been surprised that I've not been able to find very much info

about iodine as a treatment for skin lesions, etc...but I'm guessing

it's such an old treatment there just isn't much on the Internet.

Zoe, I think Derry's skin/iodine comments are good...and wondered if

you wanted to add this link in the " skin " section at

www.iodine4health.com.

What a beautifully conducted and reported experiment! Thank you, .

This is very important research. And you raise some significant questions.

I am very curious what type of mole it was. Do you have any idea how long the mole was there before you painted it? Was it changing size? Interesting that it slid off in just one day.

I, too, wonder if it could have been cancerous. If so, Lugol's is sure simpler than surgery.

Again, thank you very much for this well-conducted and thought-provoking experiment.

Zoe

painted a suspicious mole with Lugol's

....about ten days ago. This mole had all the hallmarks of"suspicious", irregular border, uneven color, REALLY dark in one area, almost black. I painted the mole with Lugol's, also painted anon-suspicious mole and a "clear" area of skin(all on my upper arm) tocompare. The suspicious mole seemed to suck the iodine right up, itkind of had a sheen to it. I re-painted all three areas a few timesthat day. The next morning that mole slid right off, the Lugol'sdissolved it. The other areas showed no change whatsoever. The areawas a little raw so I left it alone. It scabbed over and I commencedpainting it, once a day. 4 days ago the scab fell off and there wasfresh new pink skin. The area shows no scar whatsoever! Lugol's seems to target compromised tissue and leaves healthytissue alone. If that mole was cancerous, apparently the Lugol'sstimulated atopsis in the cancerous tissue. If the mole was amanifestation of "toxins" exiting via the skin, the Lugol's seemed tospeed up that process. I'd like to add here that I had a similar experience a couple ofyears ago with a mole "dissolving". At that time I was eating a LOT offruit, a lot of raw food, a very cleansing diet. I had a mole just"dissolve" during that time. What I gather from this is that the bodyWILL heal itself if properly supported...Lugol's seems to turbo-chargethat process...:)Send Message: iodine Iodine

What about moles themselves of which I have many (and seem to get

more over the years)? I wonder if they would disappear. Curious,

-This was quite interesting, although I'd be willing to try garlic,

how on earth can you put garlic on yourself and be around other

people? The odor permeates your whole body. At least iodine can be

covered up. Maybe I could use the garlic at night and the iodine

during the day.

Great link, Cindi, on various remedies and moles. http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/moles.html

Here is some of the iodine information from that page.

Remedy #2: Iodine Cures Moles

11 Yea4/5/2007: Darren from Walhalla, SC writes: "Iodine helped get rid of moles but left pink spots how do I make the pink spots heal faster or blend in with the skin?"

3/13/2007: Shane (shanus62@...) from Sunbury, , Australia writes: "Thank you everyone. Iodine worked brilliantly for removing my moles. The trick was to rub them with a pumice stone or scratch them with a needle before applying the iodine 2-3 times a day. Hey presto ! Mole gone in a week to 10 days. Once the moles turn hard you can stop applying the iodine. I also found apple cider vinegar worked as well, but must be careful not to over apply as it irritates the surrounding skin (only needed to apply this for 2-3 days to kill the mole. Thanks to this site for the information, I never thought it would be so easy."

2/26/2007: Diane (lifestyle.benefits@...) from Chesapeake, VA writes, "I use tincture of iodine (everyday) on skin ulcers which refuse to heal. Sometimes I apply iodine 2 to 3 times a day. I never miss a day when treating squamous cell carcinoma. The area being treated by the tincture of iodine often becomes very sensitive or itchy...don't discontinue the iodine...keep applying iodine on the ulcer. The itchy skin will scab up...it's just the healing process. Scrape off the skin if it again develops a white flaky patch or a brown scab...then, apply more iodine. Use the iodine for at least one to two months until the skin ulcer has completely disappeared. Then, use Retin-A cream to complete the skin rejuvenation process. Use Raw Organic Palm Fruit Oil along with the iodine to promote deep healing and also use Raw Organic Palm Fruit Oil along with sun block to prevent future skin damage. The ulcer patches have developed on my hands and lower arms. One skin damaged area shows my skin separating on crease lines on top of my wrist. The day after I applied the tincture of iodine to the separating skin, the crease lines showed signs of healing, as blood circulation appeared in the area. The areas I treat are all about the size of a quarter, which is larger than the freckle-sized spot. I figure the underlying skin damage takes in a larger area and it may only show up on the skin as a small freckle-sized spot. Last, everyone will ask you why you are using iodine on your skin...it's orange...it's sooo old fashioned. Don't let the embarrassment of orangey skin stop your self-treatment...it beats having a doctor remove the cancer and leaving you with holes where the carcinoma or melanoma used to be. I use this treatment on all skin problems, to include possible melanoma. In addition to the topical treatment, I plan to add a daily dose of Lugol's Iodine in my drinking water. I want to treat all cancers and other health problems from within. I have red hair and white skin with lots of freckles, and I am very sun sensitive. I have been terribly burned year after year while growing up in California. I am now 56 years old, and the skin cancer is just starting to appear. That's why I feel it necessary to add the Lugol's Iodine daily to my drinking water."

, from Lowell, North Carolina writes, "I had a raised mole to come up on my face and several skin tags to appear under my arm. I was embarrassed by the mole on my face, but didn't have the money to have it removed. Using a q-tip, I rubbed iodine on both the mole and skin tags at night before going to bed. Within 3 to 7 days the skin tag dried and fell off while the mole went away. I have shared this information with my sister who has removed several as well."

1/18/2006: , from Bear, DE writes, "Iodine is excellent for toenail fungus, ringworm, fever blisters, moles and skin tags, hangnails, etc. Just a few drops on a q-tip is all it takes. Use daily until the "boo-boo" is gone."

> Hey, Zoe, I first noticed this mole about a year ago. I wasn't

really concerned about it as I had had a mole of this type " dissolve "

on it's own a couple of years ago...THAT was weird, a mole on my

forearm looked a little strange one day, kind of " wet " , I rubbed it

and it came off. Was that cancer? I don't know. I do know that the

skin IS an eliminative channel for the body, especially when the

normal routes of elimination(kidneys, digestive system) are " clogged "

or overburdened. Think about how we all create new moles as we age, I

know I do:) And it would be rational to think that as we age, if we

are not cleansing properly that our eliminative channels WOULD be

overburdened. Soooo, are these manifestations cancer or " toxins "

exiting via the skin?

Think about the great job iodine is doing INTERNALLY! :) And these

musings bring home how vitally important it is to support our

eliminative systems, ESPECIALLY while on iodine therapy. I've been

juicing a lot, eating a lot of raw foods, NO brominated, chlorinated,

flouridated nuttin! I am also utilizing coffee enemas...yesterday I

was feeling queasy & light-headed so I did a coffee enema followed by

a salt-water flush, and then took a lovely nap.

Gerson utilized coffee enemas in his cancer-fighting protocol.

One thing that I remember reading is that if you feel " sick " before a

BM, that is a sure sign of " toxins " needing to be expelled. Well, I

was feeling that and I have been eating REALLY well, so it wasn't

anything I ate. Whatever was making me feel sick was coming from ME,

I'm no scientist, but I surmise that as my body breaks down

compromised tissue(pre-cancerous? who knows?) AND flushes out bromides

& what-have-you, yeah, we're going to be feeling it...

BTW, last week I " upped " my dose to 31.25 mg. per day. At this

dose we're really starting to feel the " detox " ...as much as I would

like to avoid this discomfort, I also embrace it. It's a good thing:)

And...for the MOST part, I feel fabulous! :)

Parsley helps to neutralize the sulfur compounds in garlic. There is even parsley oil in gelcaps specifically for that purpose. It is the chlorophyll in parsley that does the trick.

I love garlic and will have about 1/2 a head with dinner shortly.

Hope this helps, mjh

Can someone tell me where to get Lugol's? What I have found is for

fishtanks, online???? Our health food store does not carry it, but will

try to check into it. Sounds like some really good stuff! Are other

brands just as effective? Is Lugol's the only brand that is able to be

taken internally. I know that the regular otc drugstore iodines have

warnings about it being toxic on them! Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Thanks Cindi. I have all sorts of things on my skin and being blonde I

worry sometimes. I've been to two dermatologists but wasn't happy with

either of them. Supposedly I have nothing to worry about with anything

(at least so far.:-)). I will check out the link. Carol B

I put iodine on an irritating looking small black mole. This mole was on

my cheek on my face. The iodine left a slightly bigger & darker spot

.... & I was not able to really cover it up. Perhaps I needed better

cover up. The dark spot was glaringly obvious to me. So if you do this,

you might want to start on a Friday night, just to get a couple of days start

before you have to go back to work. The face skin sucked it up & I wasn't

able to scrub it off.

Hi all, I'm new to the group and there's nothing I hate more than

preachy folks trying to push their trip on me, but I feel important

to share this so please forgive me in advance.

To relate a personal experience with the garlic/mole

removal 'cure' (--note, I don't have any experience with Lugol's on

moles so this may or may not apply.)

Since I was a child I had a smallish mole on the left side of my

cheek (on my face not the other cheek ;)--maybe 1/2-3/4s of the size

of a pencil eraser - 1/4 " max.

Diligently my pediatrician, then my internal med doc and finally my

dermatologist would check it for signs of cancer.

Two docs tried to remove it for me by shaving it off, diligently

sending it to the lab for biopsies per usual protocol afterwards.

The lab results always came back normal and sadly so did the mole.

By the time I hit my 30s I hated the darned thing that would not go

away and saw the article about 'the garlic cure' so figured I'd give

it a try.

Let me say emphatically, yes it works. It actually stung a lot,

which obviously meant it was working and as promised; it burned

through the mole, into skin, took a fair amount of time to heal,

which hurt a fair bit, but then it scabbed and fell off. I was mole

free.

A few months later the despised mole grew back again. Looked the way

it did my entire life--all that pain and bandages on my face for

nothing.

About a year later, I went in for my usual vanity visit (to stave off

my newly found 'character lines') with a new dermatologist who did

the usual " how long have you had that mole? would you like to get

rid of it? " and I let him shave it off again. Hoped that maybe this

time he'd eventually shave down to 'the root' of the darned thing and

be rid of it for all.

Doc sent it off to the lab but this time it came back as malignant

melanoma. Two weeks later I had to have surgery to have it excised

from my cheek (3cm margins all around the lesion left me with no mole

but a 3 in scar on the side of my face instead.) Thankfully the

cancer was localized so I should have no recurrence.

Now, yes I agree it could have spontaneously mutated on its own.

There's no way of proving the garlic did anything to help it turn

cancerous. But I'll always wonder whether the garlic triggered

something that might have remained dormant if I hadn't done DIY

dermatology on myself.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you have any moles that are

big enough to bother you, please don't try to deal with them on your

own. See a dermatologist and get it removed properly.

And, if anyone's in search of a board certified dermatologist in

North LA County please ping me offline and I'd be happy to refer you

to the doctor that saved my life.

Anyway, thank you for letting me join this facinating group! best,

steph.
