Guest guest
Yes, this is how she determined I was tighter than before, was this measurement under flouro. Not adequate. For some reason they are now measuring the opening when the barium goes down on the screen and they seem to think they have a gauge as to when you are tight enough. Guest guest
I just checked expedia.com and if you book 2 weeks in advance, you can fly RT from Seattle to San Diego one day, get filled by Dr Kuri or whoever, stay at a cheap US motel, maybe even in a cheaper mexico hotel that night and fly home the next day for under $250 ($243-258) for the airfare, maybe work a deal out for several fills or something with a mexican doctor like Dr Kuri or whoever...Im sure you know he offers free fills and only $50 for the hospital for his patients, so he'd prolly do it... What about Inamed training someone like Jessie or any good nurse for that matter?...I have friends who are nurses, but someone whose been banded would be best obviously...Id bet they could make a good living just running a service doing fills out of a small cheap office with all the necessary medical equipment leased or whatever...seems like a reasonable investment, especially at those rates...a few a day at $250+ each, minus insurance and basic overhead for a one person office...could be a nice easy, self employed living for a good nurse...part time hours too... Food for thought... Stanman > I thought an update might be helpful for those getting fills in > Puyallup. > > I had a fill last week. Guest guest
Stan, Jessie already does most - if not all - the fills for her banding docs, and many band docs train skilled nurses or nurse practitioners to do the counselling, teaching, and fills for their practice. There is a lot of liability involved, so only nurses who work for banding docs would be likely willing to do fills. THe practice would provide the liability insurance for the whole group. Most Nurses, even Nurse Practitioners, do not work totally independently. They must have a doc available for problems that arise that are out of the " scope of practice " for their particular training. For instance, a NP can diagnose and prescribe for things like ear infections, most common pediatric problems, most ob'gyn things, routine physicals and immunizations, but not very major problems.
