Lugol's at Foy's Pigeon Supplies

I ordered from Foy's Pigeon supplies - service was fast - deliverycharges were reasonable. It was a good transaction for a good price.(and I'm in Canada where we often can't get companies to ship to us)Winona

I just wrote to Foy's Pigeon supplies, but have not heard back

yet. Their price for Lugol's is significantly less than price

charged by Blue Spruce, so I asked them if their Lugol's solution

contained the normal amount of Iodine and KI, or if it was less

concentrated. I'll post back to the list when the send me an answer.

Foy's just dropped me a note. They do not know the answer to my

question, and are checking with the manufacturer.

Mine came today. The price was great, so I tried. The label says " Global's

Lugols " . Maybe since it doesn't say " Lugol's Soution of Iodine " they can

use as much (or little) iodine as they want in it.

It's certainly not the same product as I got from Jcrows.com. It's a lot

thinner. Just to see, I painted some of each on the back of my hand. The

Global's version disappeared almost immediately, and the Jcrows version has

taken almost a half hour to fade. The Global version is a lot like water.

The bottle is plastic, I drink water from glass whenever possible as plastic

containers are known to leach chemicals, with something like iodine I would

would cause more leaching of chemicals than water would.

I guess the question is how much do they dilute " Lugol's Solution " to make

Global's Lugols? It might still be a good product, whether it's economical

or not depends on the dilution.

Foy's got back to me. They have no concrete answer

at this time.

The girl that I talked to said to try back the beginning of June to
