Guest guest
Morning all, I have recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto. My antibodies were 170. I was started on 50mcg. Synthroid (2 weeks ago). When I got home and began researching Synthroid I found many people seem to prefer Armour. I am staying on Synthroid for 6 weeks and then am going back for tests to see how my T3s and T4s are behaving. I go to a Nurse Practitioner who is very open minded and I'm hopeful she will be helpful while finding my way through Hashimoto Syndrome. I did the iodine patch test and it completely disappeared in 4 hours. I began taking 12.5mg. of Iodoral yesterday. I have read mixed oppinions on iodine therapy and Hashi. I would appreciate any input on the use of iodine at this point. I am still waiting for my Dr. Brownstien book, I hope it arrives today. I lived on Soy....and now find I am not suppose to eat it or drink it anymore =( Thanks for your time, in NY
Guest guest
, Consider yourself a very lucky woman. I have Hashi's and have had it for 12 years. If I knew then what I know now I would be doing all the things you are doing. I also did fine on $ynthroid (there is a reason for the dollar sign) for a while but eventually I think it made me worse. I started natural thyroid hormones in May. I am glad to see you are going to read Brownstein's book. I wish I could have had that information years ago because I think we can do a lot to help our bodies with iodine. I just read it about 2 weeks ago. I had no concerns about taking iodine and having Hashimoto's because my thyroid has destroyed itself. With any luck you can get the right medication and suppementation and slow the progress of your disease. Good luck and welcome, your timing is impecable! a in North Idaho > > Morning all, > I have recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto. My antibodies were > 170. I was started on 50mcg.
