Guest guest
You're very close to pb'ing , if you're spitting up phlegm. Whehn the pouch or esophagus is irritated, the salivary glands pour our extra saliva to try to lubricate the " problem " so it goesw through. Unfortunately, this is exactly what Bandsters DON'T need, and there is no place for it to go in the full pouch - so we often barf. What works for many is to actulally put a big card in front of you on the table, reminding you to CHEW! Eat Slowly! Tiny bites! All it takes is practice - you can change any habit with patience and practice. It will become autimatic one day soon. Cooked veggies need to be very soft, but moist fish should not be a problem. ANYthing that is dry ia asking for trouble - dry meats, dry fish, dry scrambled eggs - watch out! Use lots of lofat sauces, gravies, salsas, marinades, and cook over a low heat in a covered pan, so the juices don't evaporate. You're losing well - almost too fast for your weight! Please be sure that you're getting in the protein and fiber you need. At first, people can have trouble getting in the fiber from solid mets and fish, but if they don't, their muscles are breaking down -which results in an unsafe weight loss. Guest guest
Thank you Sandy, that makes a lot of sense. I exercise a lot and am seeing my muscles grow as well, so I don't think I am loosing muscle mass. I am always trying to remind myself to eat slower and chew more, even try to remind myself to count the chews sometimes. Thanks again for the info! Guest guest
Next time you need to remember to eat slower-- I'll just send my know-it-all 5 year old to you. She'll chirp up with " eat slower. Chew your food. Did you chew 100 times? See how I still have my food and you've already finished eating yours. Why don't you eat as slow as me! " I want to strangle her when she says this- but I know that she only learned these things from me. So I guess I better strangle myself first for teaching them to her! The reason for chewing the food 100 times is becuase I told her in the old times, the brushed their hair 100 times- now she wants me to chew my food 100 times. > I am always trying to remind myself to eat slower and chew more, > even try to remind myself to count the chews sometimes. > Thanks again for the info! > > Becky > > > --- In , " Sandy "
