Guest guest
Do you have to have a band to join the Olympia Support Group? I have been considering a band for some time...but unfortunately my insurance doesn't pay for it, and I don't have 26K to spend right now. I would love to meet with others in this area and find out more information. Guest guest
Hi Connie- I'm not Alice but I'm part of the Olympia Support Group and we welcome you ALWAYS...band or not. These people are WONDERFUL. And I so understand about the insurance not paying for it and not having the big bucks for it...(which is why I finally decided to go to Mexico) but I know that's not a light decision to make. So I really hope you do come to the next one! I met last week...part of the Olympia suppot group... and I still just can't believe it. She started as big as me and she is NORMAL sized. Just a teeny little thing. I'm still reeling about that. I love my Olympia friends but boy was that awesome to meet somebody that showed me that even as big as I started..I too can get there. E-Mail me anytime if you have any questions! I believe the next support group is at 's house. But I know they'll post that for us soon. Guest guest
Just a comment on your other comment, about price....you can get a band in Seattle area for about 16-17K as outpatient if you qualify for day surgery. You can also get one in Mexico or France for 10K or less. Each of those options, like all the others, has its own advantages and disadvantages, but they're worth considering. dan Monday, April 26, 2004, 12:40:57 PM, you wrote: C> Do you have to have a band to join the Olympia Support Group? Guest guest
> Do you have to have a band to join the Olympia Support Group? Hey, Connie, please join us! I was so amazed when I went to a group before my surgery, it's what made me finally decide to do it! Although, I must warn you, I think I embarrassed 's husband last time when I was whining that my boobs had gotten so much smaller when I lost weight: one thing I've noticed, these bandster folks are quite outspoken. from Olympia 4/27/02 Dr. Kuri was 360, now 175 and a size 10 (whoo-hoo!) (was 40D, now have trouble filling a 36B!)
