Guest guest Posted May 30, 2010 Report Share Posted May 30, 2010 The date for my first 1/2 marathon is rapidly approaching (June 24th) and as my runs get longer I find the need for some kind of sustainance, while I am running. The running stores have gu packets, any suggestions on which ones work best for bandsters? They seem to be straight sugar, but that is what I need, the last couple runs (7 miles) have really wiped me out and I think it is because my sugar gets too low. I am also wondering how many I am going to need for each run, and how they should be spaced out. Bandsters needs are a little different than the average runner, although any gu should go through a stoma just fine. I was hoping to be to 9 miles by now on my long run, but a funeral, the return of one of my missionaries and a wedding and all the overtime I worked to pay for the wedding made it kind of hard to stick to my running schedule.
