I went to the pet store yesterday and all iodine said not for consumption/keep away from pets (except your fish, I guess). It should give the ingredient list which says 85% water, 10% potassium

iodine, 5% iodine. Otherwise, especially if it's cheap, it may be a watered

down version.

It can also be called Strong's Iodine Solution. It would still need the

ingredient list, or you won't know for sure.

I got something called " Global Lugols " once, and it doesn't even stain the

skin. Quite watered down I would say.

Lugol's is not sold for internal consumption. In fact, many bottles have a

skull and crossbones on it.

This is what Dr. Derry (author " Breast Cancer and Iodine " ) wrote to me

in an email once -

The reason for the poison sign is not that it is poisonous generally . It

is poisonous to people’s thyroid if taken in large amounts.

" If the thyroid is quite weak, large amounts of daily iodine will make it go

hypo. One drop dosen’t do that. On the other hand again some people with

wonky thyroid if they take large amounts will become hyper, but not on one

drop. So the sign of poison is to stop people from taking large amounts.

Most people though can tolerate lots of iodine. Ie people with good well

working thyroids.

But if the patient is on thyroid medication then their thyroid

is turned off. So the Iodine doesn’t go to the thyroid anyway. So they

don’t have to worry at all. "

Jcrows.com claims the quality of their Lugol's Solution is very high, but

again they can sell it as a " talisman " only and can't make any medical

claims for it.

They warn you too intimidate you. Its just Lugol's. Read the label. Mine is called 'Lazy Reef' made by EPO Outfitters P.O. Box 754 Upton, NY 11973 EPOoutfitters@...

Please excuse the attachment, I can't turn it off unless I pay for this silly program that I downloaded and can't remove.

You can get Lugol's drops at the website below. Spend some time on it as it is loaded with really good info. Be sure to watch all of the videos.

Am I missing something. When I hit the " order " button it says

that the " store " has been closed since 2003. Is there another

way to order from this site?

I assume that you are referring to the altcancer website. They were shut down some time ago but re-emerged. Perhaps its just the site now and they can't take orders, I don't know. Here is a source for regular detoxified iodine. It doesn't have the potassium iodide in it.

Was looking through the website below and noticed a comment about taking antioxidants and iodine.  Should I not be taking these at the same time as the iodine?  I take CoQ10, selenium and Mega H routinely.  LinnOn Aug 31, 2006, at 6:11 PM, comdyne@... wrote:They warn you too intimidate you. Dr. Derry said there was no harm taking Vitamin C (anti-oxidant) and iodine

(oxidant.) I've seen the comment, don't believe it really matters.

Skipper,I do take a little Vit C  but not as much as some here, so I wasn't as worried about the C, most concerned if that is true about the Mega H.  I just started it back since being off for my foot surgery.  Was told not to take it for a couple of months afterward.LinnOn Aug 31, 2006, at 11:11 PM, Skipper Beers wrote:>From: Linn <linnmillerentouchonline (DOT) net>>Was looking through the website below and noticed a comment about taking >antioxidants and iodine. Skipper, what great information about Lugol's!!!

I have just created a folder under our FAQs about Lugol's and linked to your email.

Links > 01 Iodine Basics > Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) > Is my bottle of Lugol's safe? the real Lugol's? Does it have to be "Lugol's"?

Thank you!!!

Why do you take Mega H?

I don't understand oxidant theory very well. One needs oxygen to live.

Anyways, iodine and selenium are supposed to be taken together, and are

usually found in food together. Selenium is an anti-oxidant.

Here's also one interesting quote implying iodine may actually work

synergistically as an antioxidant -

http://www.lewrockwell.com/miller/miller20.html

" Other researchers have shown that iodine increases the antioxidant status

of human serum similar to that of vitamin C. "

One of Dr. O'Shea's recommendations.  I tried it and felt really good while on it.  I also had my ANA #'s reduce after taking this.LinnOn Sep 1, 2006, at 9:32 AM, Skipper Beers wrote:>From: Linn <linnmillerentouchonline (DOT) net>>Skipper,>>I do take a little Vit C but not as much as some here, so I wasn't as >worried about the C, most concerned if that is true about the Mega H. I want to try the iodine but can't afford a doctor. I'm on Levothroid

75 MCG (.075 MG) but feel I need more but am afraid to beat up my

adrenals anymore than they are by taking Levothroid without my adrenals

being looked at (all this according to Dr. Rind tape). Am holding off

until my ship comes in to have all my hormones looked at in sync.

My question is, do you think one drop is pointless? Should I wait until

I can afford a doctor to monitor me? I don't dare go of Levothroid

because I fell asleep at the wheel.
