Guest guest
>Has anyone in the New York area been to the Schacter Center for Complementary >Medicine? They have a great article on Iodine Deficiency in which they referenence Dr >Abraham's findings. For anyone interested the article is below. Dear Amy, Yes, sad to say I've been to Schachter, and would never go back! They are not iodine literate and Schachter is not really up on the latest research. He told me he had one patient who got a very high TSH being on iodine and Schachter took him right off the iodine and put him back on thyroid meds, w/o iodine. I asked him if he had consulted with Dr. Flechas on this case, and he hadn't. Dr. Flechas has a protocol involving vitamin C in cases where someone's TSH goes up. Schachter was unfamiliar with this. He did recently go to a conference hosted by Xymogen, which is a cutting edge vitamin company--but they're a vitamin company. My thought is: why not consult with the experts, i.e. Flechas, Abraham, Brownstein? When I asked him if he was going to the Iodine conference, he was unfamiliar with it. This is not the mark of someone who is seriously interested in treating with iodine. If you need a NY doc, try Dr. Linchitz. He is better at iodine. He is located on Long Island. You can find him through his website. He is also more knowledgeable in other health areas, warmer and more responsive imo than Schachter. But the truth is, I think WE know more about iodine than most docs .... any of us who has consulted with Flechas is really better acquainted with the latest findings than other docs are, unless they're also consulting with him. It'll be interesting to find out who attended the Iodine Conference! Just my two cents. Feel free to email me offline for more info.
