Guest guest
Congrats to you! You've done great, and are committed to keeping the weight off. The time really flies, doesn't it? After awhile, it's hard to believe we were ever living that " past life " of obesity, terrible self-image, and poor health and worse health ahead. It's not easy, and sometimes not much fun - but it IS worth it! Your story helps give hope and support to those following behind. Banding DOES WORK if we are willing to put in reasonable effort. Sandy r > > Wow, I can't believe it has been 3 years since I was banded. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday, and others it seems like the band has been there forever. > > I recently decided to train for a half marathon, I have gone back to school to get my BSN, and I am working towards moving up in my career, becoming much more involved in a bunch of committees. I am extremely active and it feels great. If someone had told me I would not only want to do these things, but be succeeding in my efforts before I was banded I would have laughed. Now that I am no longer drug down and tired from carrying all the extra weight, I actually have energy to complete some goals. I no longer spend my life focusing on food, and beating myself up for poor food choices, I focus on being healthy. As a result my self esteem has skyrocketed. I am realizing I can do so much more than I ever dreamed possible for myself. > > It's not been easy, there have been bumps, discouragement, setbacks, and frustrations. I am currently trying to maintain with no fill, which is turning out to be a little of a challenge. But it seems like a doable one, most days. Most importantly, I no longer beat myself up when I make a poor choice, I try to learn from it and move forward. I am so much happier. > > Thanks for all the support these past few years, I would definitely not have been as successful without it! > > Northrup > Dr. Kuri 1/7/07 > started 269 today 155 >
