Guest guest
no you should increase the Iodoral to 4 tabs/day but I guess I might get in trouble for that so I will say you should realize there is a debate about iodine. Conventional docs/allopathic medicine thinks we get all we need. read Brownstein's book on Iodine for why you would want to take more. I have taken 50mg Iodoral for 6 months. Gracia My question is I already am taking Iodoral, but I was bored this morning so I did a web search on symptoms of taking too Iodine. And every website says that we shouldn't need to take iodine because there is enough in salt and food. So now I am scared that I shouldn't be taking it. I take 2 a day of the Iodoral. I haven't taken any test, but I think on my lunch break I should go to the health store and get some liquid iodine to do a skin test. I started taking the Iodoral last Friday and since then I have had 2 times where I tasted metak in my mouth. Also I have had acne both on my face and my neck. But I don't know if it is from my taking maybe too much prigestrone or from th iodine or just plain from me fixing to start my period soon. As I don't pay attention enough to my body when I start different things. So should I stop the Iodoral?Vicky No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.12.5/451 - Release Date: 9/19/2006 No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Vicky, I look forward to your answer. I began taking Iodo on Saturday (2 a day). Monday and Tuesday I had pretty bad headaches and noticed some acne on my cheek (49, post-meno, so no period coming). I too read about all the " iodine in the salt " , but I've also read that most of the " iodine " in salt, bread, etc, is actually " bromide " (or something like that) which is actually harmful to the thyroid. Today I took just one Iodo and also lowered my dose of Armour from 3 to 2.5 grains. So far so good. I did do the skin patch test, and in a matter of a couple of hours the stain was totally gone, which indicated to me that I was definitely deficient in iodine. Another thing I have noticed since starting the Iodo is that my throat/thyroid is noticible. In other words, swallowing can become something of a chore sometimes. Guest guest
The pkg insert says that if you experience any of these side effects, to stop taking the Iodoral and call your dr. Acne-like lesions in certain areas of your body Headache in the frontal sinus Unpleasant brassy taste Increased salavation and sneezing You could stop taking it and just try the iodine patch (painting a 2 inch square on your body) to see how long it takes to go away. I hope you're using sea salt in your foods. The mortons is garbage. Guest guest
So let me get this straight. You are mega dosing iodine without having done any research or testing and only now are realizing that 98% of the medical profession thinks it is dangerous? IMO, you should stop the iodine and read up on it and understand exactly what it is that you are doing and the risks you are taking, if any. --- vickyhebbe <vickyhebbe@...> wrote: > My question is I already am taking Iodoral, but I was bored this > morning so I did a web search on symptoms of taking too Iodine. Guest guest
actually I have had all the symptoms listed below but kept taking Iodoral and they went away. Guest guest
Me too. Dr. B told me it was OK to keep going. Mine were not severe though just annoying. I have done several detoxes and this felt like that. B. Re: Re: I'm new and have a question.... actually I have had all the symptoms listed below but kept taking Iodoral and they went away. Guest guest
everything I read about Iodoral says one will have the most success on 50mg/day which is the loading dose to get to iodine sufficiency. Lower doses will take much longer. For me personally, 50 mg has been the right dose. Taking less causes problems. Guest guest
Interesting. Yes, I'm taking Redmon's Sea Salt, 1500 to 2000 mg of vit C and calcium/mag/zine...no selenium. Do I need selenium? Can eating store-bought bread be putting bromide into my system? There are actually only two little red spots slightly raised on my left cheekbone. Today they're almost gone...Oh great!!!...just realized I didn't take any of my vitamins and supplements this morning! I do have my Armour, Vit C and iron supplements with me at work. Whew! Can I take the iodine, potassium, calcium/mag/zinc and multi-vit around 5pm without interfering with my sleep later? I don't think I should take the sublingual B12 that late tho. Guest guest
>From: " Cheryl " <clhend@...> >I do have my Armour, Vit C and iron supplements with me at work. >Whew! Does that mean you take iron around the same time as your thyroid hormone? It's known to interfere with thyroid absorption. Of course, the sublingual Armour people think they have that solved, as they allege sublingual ingestion is not affected by iron, calcium, magnesium in the way those who swallow pills are. Some people wonder if Armour can realy be absorbed sublingually, as it is not specifically formulated for that, and some hint that maybe all that does is dissolve the pill and it still gets digested the regular way. Beyond that, have you been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia? If not, taking iron can actually be harmful. Most doctors will see anemia, and assume iron deficiency without bothering to test the iron and ferritin levels. >Can I take the iodine, potassium, calcium/mag/zinc and multi-vit >around 5pm without interfering with my sleep later? No. I try to have at least 3 hours between taking any Armour and any iron. Armour at 6am, 10:45, 1:45 and iron at 4:30 to 5 pm, just before I leave work. I take one 18mg cap of iron a day. Guest guest
maybe it's some legal issue, so they can't be sued. I have been on Iodoral for more than 6 months and feel well on it.
