Guest guest
Just to point out to the ones that are on Thyroxine, Grapefruit interacts with it. luv Dee Only thing I didn't use was the Grapefruit as it > interracts with epam. > > How are you feeling now hon? > lotsa luv > Dawnx >

Guest guest
Hi, surely lithium is a thyroid inhibitor and can cause hypo? Subject: Re: Too much Armour? Hi Helen,. When I found that lithium in low doses (below the bipolar therapeutic dose) fixes hypnic headaches, I was both astonished that it fixed it in 36hrs and equally surprised that it was the alternative to cortisol! HYPNIC HEADACHES WAKE YOU UP ABOUT 4.00AM, REGULAR AS CLOCKWORK, UNTIL YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I can't recommend that you ask your doc about using low dose lithium...s/he'll have to look it up on the net, lol... but my guess is that a night-time cortisol problem 'may' be fixed by either route (hydrocortisone/lithium). best wishes Bob
Guest guest
Here's an update on my problem with too much Armour. I have now stopped taking my Armour altogether, as still having problems with high heart rate that jumps up even on standing. Managed to hit 150 doing the hoovering last week. That's 5 weeks now since the problem started. I suspect too that I'm sensitive to the Nutri Adrenal - is there a next step for adrenals? What's the difference between Isocort and HC? I still don't really know what is the problem, but will wait until everything's settled before starting again. Guest guest
Some people are sensitive to Nutri Adrenal, but this may not be the problem. The other problems that are associated with thyroid disease are Candida and a low ferritin. Either of these conditions will stop your thyroid hormone from working and cause some toxicity and give you the symptoms you experienced when you were taking Armour. You should check these out to eliminate them as a cause. Were you a patient of Dr Peatfield's? If so, do contact him and send him an update on what is happening. Have you had any recent blood tests done, and if so, post the numbers and the reference ranges here. You might need to start a stronger supplement such as Isocort, or an even stronger replacement of Hydrocortisone itself. luv - Sheila Here's an update on my problem with too much Armour. Guest guest
Hi Helen, I have the same problem, been off Armour for two weeks, nothings changed with the pulse rate, it's all over the place. I'd have thought it'd have settled down by now if it was too much Armour that was prob. Everytime I stand up I feel dizzy and pulse rate shoots up. I am taking NAE and although helped for a few weeks, doesn't seem to be helping now. I'm hoping to speak to Dr P on weds to see what he thinks, I'll tell you what he thinks in case it helps you at all. Guest guest
Hi Ruth, I've spoken to Dr P and he felt I hadn't reduced my dose low enough from the 4+ grains I was originally on. Ironically I actually feel the best I've been since I started Armour in January, only prob is the heart rate. I was taking NAE but it started to bother me. I hope things go OK for you. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, No problem with Candida and I've been taking Iron supplements for a while. I'll probably need to think about paying for blood tests soon. Is Isocort another glandular or a cortisone supplement? Even half did this to me. I wasn't on any thyroid medication at the time so of course that made it easier to track down. I have had hyper sensitivites to Armour as well from time to time, never really know why this happens but guess it might be due to high antibodies and maybe viruses too. They are quite different symptoms, highish blood pressure, racing heart, sweating, feeling toxic, excess energy, insomnia, frequent trips to the loo, and lastly loss of weight. Hope that helps. Guest guest
Hi Debbie: Yes, this could be too much armour. One of the things many of us need to do in the warmer Summer months is to decrease our natural thyroid meds. In the Summer, I up my adrenal glandular and decrease my NT....The heat does a job on our adrenals and many systems don't adjust well. http://www.drkaslow.com/html/adrenal_insufficiency.html This person usually does not do well in the heat or in the summer, particularly in conditions of high temperature, high humidity, and low barometric pressure Cheers, JOT > Can any one advise please. I increased my Armour from 1 1/2 to 2grains split into two doses. Shortly after taking the 2nd grain I became very dizzy and warm although it is a very warm day . No palpatations no increase in pulse temp or blood pressure. Temp 36.5 Pulse82 BP 104/68. Is this likely due to too much Armour. > Love Debbie >
