Guest guest
I have a friend who developed vitiligo as soon as she was put on thyroid hormones (she has Hasimoto's). She was taking levothyroxine sodium 25 microg. Still does and vitiligo has been slowly spreading. It could be because these extra hormones depleted her of something she was needing. Since she has never taken iodine, could be the lack of iodine induced by the extra T4. I do not know as I am not an expert. Just thought it was interesting for you to know this. --- Jan <jan_narelle_tea@...> wrote: > I don't think so . Guest guest
Hello All! In regard to the spots on your skin - I had this years ago when my Hashi's initially cropped up but it did abate once I got my dosage "correct" w/Armour and I took vitamins daily for a while. I've read that it's due to a copper/zinc inbalance which was verified w/blood work. Your zinc stores may be depleted which is common w/thyroid disease. Zinc to copper ratio should be approx 10:1 in blook serum. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Same experience here. I had the vitiligo for years before getting diagnosed hashi's/hypo...and it was getting worse...but once I was optimized on Armour, it stopped the process. Guest guest
> Hi Libby, What i'm wondering now is can iodine cause a zinc or copper imbalance. I've read some one have success with compounded 'B' vits, and another taking aloe vera. I also read somewhere that it is definately not caused by a mineral/vitamin deficiency but i'm not entirely convinced. I'm taking liquid minerals at the moment, and i plan to take a hair mineral test soon, although it doesn't give you up to date info. There must be some sort of imbalance going on, and i want to get to the bottom of it. > Hello All! > In regard to the spots on your skin - I had this years ago when my Hashi's initially cropped up but it did abate once I got my dosage " correct " w/Armour and I took vitamins daily for a while. Guest guest
Hello , How have you been lately? Do you have Hashi's? I can't remember. I just found out that I do. I wondered if that had something to do with the spots. If you find a way to get rid of these things let me know. I have a ton of white spots on my right ankle and up halfway up my shin. Just the right one???? I have had them lightly in the past, but are way worse now.
