Guest guest
Hi Your anti bodies are extrememly HIGH and this means you have Hashimotos disease, this is where the anti bodies are attacking your own thyroid and will eventually destroy it, I have this and the immediate treatment is to give thyroxine, I cant believe you havent been given it!! My anti bodies at last test were 628 and I have been on thyroxine for nearly 2 yrs. Your TSH is high which means your pituatary gland is having to send out more signals to your thyroid to make it release more hormones. You need to go back to your doc because anyone showing positive for anti bodies and as high as you should be treated, I am shocked that you havent, its insane, Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease and its with you for life From: <madmumof4girls@...>Subject: Still confused - got results, should I be worried?thyroid treatment Date: Thursday, 14 August, 2008, 12:42 PM Again, any help/advise would be gratefully received!!!Thank youRachSend instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger. Guest guest
Hi, Wow - 3000!!! I don't feel so bad now!! I have made an appointment to go back and see the GP tomorrow morning - I phoned NHS direct and spoke to an advisor their and like everyone else on this site she beleives I should go back, especially as I am feeling so wiped out! I know it's the school holidays (having 4 girls I HAVE to take that into consideration!) but I am totally exhausted and also very emotional - but that is only because I feel so tired!! I don't even have the energy to listen to my girls at the moment! Bless em Will let you know how I get on and thanks again for your advise! Guest guest
Well you cant go on like that, you need to be well for your kids and, they deserve you to be well and I know totally how you feel. Do go back to your doc and make him aware you know more about this than he is giving you credit for and that you feel so tired, I tell you one thing, I bet all docs hate the internet cos us humble folk can find out sooooo much information they would probably rather we didnt cos it makes their job harder, well i say GOOD cos thats what they are paid for!!! they need to work for their money and not just sit there dishing out AD'S, anti biotics and pain killers! Sorry just letting off steam here,,,,! Guest guest
Hi , Just out of interest, what was your tsh level when they started you on thyroxine? I think the reason they have decided not to start me on anything is because mine is 4.3 - which is borderline (but then has also gone down from 6.something - a test which was test a few weeks earlier) Best Wishes Rach
Guest guest
Have you had an adrenal profile done? If your adrenals are struggling then no amount of thyroxine will make you feel better as you wont have enough cortisol to help with the conversion of T4 to T3, I found this out the hard way and I am now waiting to start a small dose of cortisol as NAE didnt help a great deal. I have stopped my T4 while I get this started and then will be restarting on a lower dose, have a look in the files on this website for more details on this From: cassiecfc <cassiecfc@...>Subject: Re: Still confused - got results, should I be worried?thyroid treatment Date: Thursday, 14 August, 2008, 6:48 PM No I feel awful. Guest guest
Hi When I was diagnosed my TSH was 8 something so yes I was out of range, but yours is High in range and I think deserves a trial of thyroxine if nothing else, if you were in Germany you would have a diagnosis because their cut off point is 2.5, makes you think doesnt it? Guest guest
Dont be surprised if the adrenal blood tests come back normal, the best and more accurate test is the 24hr salivary one From: cassiecfc <cassiecfc@...>Subject: Re: Still confused - got results, should I be worried?thyroid treatment Date: Thursday, 14 August, 2008, 8:56 PM Adrenal was on the blood test i had today ready for the endo next week.> >> > Thats a long time to go without knowing you have anti bodies, I have> know since diagnosis that I had them, yours are very high, do you feel> well on the thyroxine and what dose do you take?> > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Send instant messages to your online friendshttp://uk.messenger .>Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.
