Hi, Pam (dyno) - you have learned a lot of better eating and exercise

habits from being banded. You know what a good portion size is now,

and what good food choices are. Stick to these, and you'll be able to

do fine.

a VERY experienced doc might consider putting the band in again, in

certain circumstances, if you really need it. Aetna may even pay for

it again - ask them. Best of luck to you - Sandy R

Pam, what alerted you to a slipped band? I have been having a lot of reflux and

everything feels like a baseball in my throat. I saw my surgeon on Thursday and

they removed .03cc and told me to see how the weekend went before I began tests.

I am curious what symptoms people who have had a slipped band have had. Thanks,

Donna

Thanks all for your support during my recent ordeal. I was diognosed

with a slipped lapband and had to have it removed.

When my band slipped I had very slight symptoms it was acid reflux,

something that I never suffer from. I also started to vomit more and

there was no telling what would set that off, a glass of milk or

food, I would just vomit at times. Taking the fluid out of my band

slipped it back into place for a year or so then it slipped again

and had to come out. It is going back in in 10 days or so woohoo....

I am not having it in to lose weight but to assist me in portion

control, which even after having a band for two years is damm hard

to do. Losing the weight is the easy part, coming to grips with food

issues and why I eat what I eat is the hard part... and even knowing

and recognizing my triggers doesn't make it any easier to stop once

I start...

My slip was diagnosed under fluro, good luck

I have been searching for help from someone who has had a slipped

band. Did Insurance pay for fixing it? Just curious.

Thanks.

My Band was done in Canada and no insurance company up there covers

them... so it was between me and my surgeon.

If you don't mind me asking, what were signs and symptoms of slipped

band? I worry about that after my doc said my pouch was " generous "

and bigger than he would like. He unfilled me back down to 1 cc in

my ring and will just watch and wait. Any info you can share is

appreciated.

I wish my Doc had been able to reposition my band; but I guess when

he went in there was too much bruising to risk it. Anyway, at this

point, the insurance covered the procedure. I did find it

interesting to hear from my doctor that slippage is more common

after a loss of 100 pounds. Best of luck!

The symptoms of my slipped band were acid reflux (I never have acid

reflux) very bad at night. I also suddenly was throwing up a lot

more and on strange things like I would drink something and vomit. I

could also eat a lot more suddenly since my pouch was bigger from

the slip. So I had a friend who is an x-ray tech and she gae me an

off the record fluroscope and I could tell the shape of my pouch was

off, so I went to see m surgeon and sure enough it had slipped.

But there was no pain, I just knew something was wrong by the way my

body reacted to things

Hope this helps

I am sort of worried about a slipped band. I am starting to throw

up more too and on weird things. Did you notice a lot of burping

after a meal too? I wouldnt do this but what would happen if

someone had slipped and they didnt get it taken care of? Just

curious.

As you become a more -experiecned bandster, you should be barfing

nearly NEVER, not more often! Barfing is a serious matter, and leads

to slippage, and there are more and more slippages being reported.

You need to see your doc for an eval to be sure the band is in good

position, if you're still barfing. If a band is slipped, it only

gets worse without care, and can require removal. You need to take

very good care of your band if you want it to last!
