Wow, that's wonderful. And good he gave it to you early, as you have more time

to ride it.

So is it a single speed one? Around here you'd need a ten speed or similar due

to all the hills, but since the beach is flat....

Where do you live?

Great Mothers Day Gift

Hi Everyone,

I just had to share what my son got me for an early Mothers Day

Gift... I think I have the greatest kid out there... Well, I am a

little biased but hey....My son bought me a Beach Cruiser Bike... I

love it... It kinda looks like it was from the 50's or so... It's

purple, has a big wide seat with shocks and it even has a cute little

horn...He got it for me on Sunday and we have been riding our bikes

together everyday since... Sometimes twice a day... I'm averaging an

hour a day...I haven't been on a bike in close to 15-20 years...I just

can't help smling as I'm pedaling down the street honking my horn...

(nothing like tooting your own horn..lol) What a great gift...I am

finally at a weight that I can enjoy some of these kind of activities

with my son... I was heavy through out my sons entire childhood and was

unable to do activities like this with him..He is 17 now and I think he

enjoys riding bikes with me just as much as I enjoy spending the time

with him...How cool is this?

Had to share

Know the area well. Born in Long Beach, went to some college in Bakersfield, had

dorm mates from Tehachapi, Lancaster, Mojave, Bishop, Lone Pine, Taft, Wasco,

Buttonwillow, and all sorts of other " interesting " places in desert and valley.

Also grew up in Phoenix, and love desert (which we have in Boise), but wouldn't

want to live in Phoenix any more.

I've had lots of ear and balance problems for my whole life, so don't do bikes.

Just feet. But that's fine with me.

My wife got an iPod for Christmas (from me), new little shuffle. She never

thought she wanted one....but now wouldn't go walking without it.

Just load some of your favorite songs on it for next time you exercise.

OMG Dan, that is amazing...I grew up in Bakersfield. Did you go to BC

or the University? What years were you there? I was 4 when we moved

there in 1972, I lived there until the age of 14, so around 1982

moved to Texas to live with Dad.. I went to 9 different elementary

schools (mom liked to move ALOT!)

My brother is still there and is the graphic artist for Bolthouse

Farms (largest carrot distributor in the world) Go buy carrots at the

store and see where they come from....BAKERSFIELD! That and Buck

Owens are their only claims to fame.
