The only caveat that I have about Curves (I used to love them) is that

their owners are very conservative religious folks who donate a lot of

their profits to violent anti-abortion groups. I don't care what their

religion is, or what causes they give to as long as it's not coming from

money they made off of me. I am now in the market for a gym that is more

in line with my own personal beliefs.

I am not trying to start any kind of debate, I know that the whole

abortion thing is a huge ball of wax and is not appropriate for a bandster

forum. I am only trying to inform those who may be interested in learning

what kind of causes their money is supporting.

This is one of the major reasons i decided to join up with Curves is

because I do support them and their causes they donate to. One of

the owners where I go is a Budhist (sp) and the other owner is a

Protestant. There are two co-owners of the franchise. I am a firm

believer that we should try to check out where our monies go to as

much as we can wth whatever we are involved with. I don't always

support what my government (state and nationally) does but I do pay

my taxes.

I used to go to the one in Redmond Ridge and it was great. I've heard the

one in downtown Redmond is always packed, but they have more machines, so

there's more variety. (Every day, the same thing. Variety. ; )) They're all

closed on Sunday.

They seem to be everywhere. Does anyone have recommendations (or

warnings) about any on the Eastside?

I read the SF Examiner article about this, too, but T. just

posted some CORRECT info on this on SmartB. - the Examiner article

was apparently VERY wrong, and they have posted a retraction at this

site:

Thanks Sandy. The link you gave didn't work, so I went to SB and found

the post you were talking about. The correct link is

http://www.curversforchoice.org/ . I appreciate you and passing

on this info. I stand corrected and have contacted the person who passed

the misinformation on to me.
