Guest guest
Helps keep bile flowing because it raises sam-e levels in the liver. with out bile or thicken bile you perstialisis is slowed and constipation occurs. Guest guest
Is this the same type of Betaine (TMG) that is in a Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) supplement? It says Betaine sourced from beets on the bottles. Guest guest
TMG for liver detoxifcation and methylation Beta HCL is for increasing stomach acids 2 seperate entities > > > > > > > What is TMG? > > > > > > > > > > ---->http://www.raysahelian.com/trimethylglycine.html > > <http://www.raysahelian.com/trimethylglycine.html> > > > > > > " Trimethylglycine TMG (also known as betaine), and Dimethylglycine > > > DMG, are methyl donors that help in the production of several brain > > > chemicals and hence improve mood, energy, wellbeing, alertness, > > > concentration, and visual clarity. Guest guest
HI Lynn, Has the TMG helped your the constipation you got from iodine? Guest guest
> > Do you use it and does it help the plumbing? > > Pamela > Pamela, I've not used TMG but use other digestive aids with betaine. I also use bile acids in the form of a product called GB-Plus by Nutri-West. It has ox bile concentrate plus some other herbs that support bile release (black radish root and beet root. I take 2 with each meal. You can also support the gallbladder with beets and fermented beet kvass in the morning and at night. I don't particularly like the taste of beet kvass but it does help. I love pickled or fermented beets though. A couple of months ago I did extensive research on serotonin shutdowns in the gut with heavy metal release and/or halide detox. If the iodine is causing more heavy metals/bromide/fluoride to come out via the colon then this could also be shutting down peristalsis by causing the neuro-receptors to not respond correctly. I've been adding 5-HTP with my iodoral supplements as it's used by parents with mentally handicapped kids to increase their kids gut serotonin. These kids have histories of bad constipation due to low serotonin. I think there is something to the estrogen/peristalsis connection also. I use bio-identical hormones and have found I need to increase those slightly on iodine. I've always had constipation/digestive problems pre-period when I was younger and suspect now my estrogen levels dropped lower then they should have after ovulation. Okay so here's what's helped me: - bile concentrates + liver/liver gallbladder supportive herbs and food - buffered C with the iodine - 5-HTP with the iodine - magnesium glucarate (I can't go too high with magnesium or I get muscle fatigue and weird heartbeats) - enzymes with my meals - increasing probiotics between meals - increasing my trace minerals including selenium - no fiber supplements (makes it all FAR worse when there's a jam up) - enemas when all else fails I've been on higher doses of iodoral for almost a year now and still have problems with constipation but it's way, way better then when I first started. I still have one small almalgam filling to be removed which is going to happen next week. Then I'll add in Andy Cutler's detox program. I hope this helps give you some plumbing ideas. It can be utterly frustrating and twice has made me give up on using iodine. Lynn
Guest guest
Lynn thank for pointing out those facts about iodine and heavy metal detoxification. Estrogen increases 5hiaa which is metabolite of sertonin production too much estrogen and not enough estrogen can cause constipation more so its the progesterone/estrogen imbalnace that is the main culprit. Yes TMG does help thin the bile and increase perstalisis and also supporting neurotransmitters such as serotonin This is basically a mercury/estrogen/autism detoxification protocol i use 400 mgs sam-e BID, 2 TBSP lecthithin granules each meal 500 mgs taurine TID 500 glycines TID 600 mgs NAC BID 50 mgs P5P BID 200 mgs -5htp before bed 2000 mgs TMG BId 5000 mgs folinic acid 10000 methy b-12 injections EOD probiotics between meals Digestive enzymes each meal Supplements I use are based on clinical testing that I have done and research so each individual is different I have low homocysteine / elevated urine mercury levels and my supplements are based on that principle. > > > > > > Do you use it and does it help the plumbing? > > > > Pamela > > > > > Pamela, > I've not used TMG but use other digestive aids with betaine. > > I also use bile acids in the form of a product called GB-Plus by > Nutri-West. WHere are you getting powdered TMG? I'm going to try it.Could you say more about 5hiaa and it's role in all this.?I just googled it ...the infor is below. What's making you say this is a progesterone/estrogen imbalance?ThanksLynnhttp://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/514413_7Serotonin Signaling, SERT, and Chronic ConstipationEvaluation of serotonin metabolism in chronic constipation is limited. Most of the studies have been performed on patients with constipated IBS and the 2 studies have shown impaired serotonin release after a test meal.[64,65] Studies on mucosal 5-HT are again limited, and have been performed only in the setting of constipated IBS. Dunlop and colleagues[64] found no difference in total 5-HT content but a markedly reduced 5HIAA (5-hydroxy-indole acetic acid)/5-HT ratio, suggestive of impaired turnover. A second study[66] showed increased serotonin content in mucosal biopsies in constipated IBS patients, with no change in the concentration of the 5-HT metabolite, 5HIAA, implying a reduced 5HIAA/5-HT ratio as well. Because symptoms in chronic constipation are very similar to those of constipated IBS, with the exception of pain, it seems quite likely that impaired serotonin release is also a feature of constipation.
