Judy what you are describing is the detoxing effects. Not sure why you are getting it with that small amount but you are. Some people just seem to be more sensitive. Dr. Brownstein recommends using a Buffered C powder to help your body detox. It is Vit C, Magnesium, Postassium and calcium. I did have some excess salivation when I started along with headaches and general aches but it passed in 3 days. Others have said the same thing.

On Thursday I took my first drop of Lugol's in a large glass of juice.Next day I had a bit of diarrhoea, but not badly. Then I took my second dose of 1 drop last night...after awhile I felt sick, had a lot of excess saliva in my mouth which is still more than usual and it is now at least 15 hours since the dose. I felt for a short while after taking the dose, a metallic taste in my mouth and I felt weary, more so than usual. I developed a headach which luckily went away, and seemed to have more aches and pains.

Although it is uncommon, it is also possible that you are allergic to

iodine. My DX recommends using NAET to desensitize.

I have read that most of the iodine evaporates from

the skin when painting it. However, I have also read

that painting iodine helps w/ breast fibroids, so

maybe the iodine stays pretty localised? It might be

that when using skin absorption you have to use more.

Thank you for that , it all makes sense now. When I took

the Isocort, although it is supposed to be mild, think that I might

have got a touch of candida, so hopefully things will get better in a

few days. Nothing surprises me the way that my body reacts, even with

some vitamins, I have had a bad reaction.

One of the reasons that I was hoping that the Iodine would work with

me is that I had breast cancer just 2 years ago and am now being

tested to see if I have the gene. Unfortunately we have a family

history of cancer, and the extra protection won't go astray.

Thank you to all the others who answered my query, it is much

appreciated.

I think your body is so starving for iodine that you will need a large dose like 50mg/day. But probly others won't think that way. (I know a bit of Aussie Jane's history).

I have a query re the Lugol's solution. I firstly painted a very small area on my inner thigh and it seemed to burn. Then at the same time as I painted the Betadine on my arm for the test area I painted the Lugol's on the other arm. This time it didn't burn but it wasn't absorbed as quicky as the Betadine, but it was well gone within 15 hours.On Thursday I took my first drop of Lugol's in a large glass of juice.Next day I had a bit of diarrhoea, but not badly. Thanks for that Gracia...I have seen you mention the Lugol's solution

on many of the thryoid sites to which I now belong, but never thought

to investigate it before. We have touched base a couple of times so

good to see you here as well. I am going slowly with my increases,

will wait till the symptoms go away, and then increase.

well if your body really needs iodine, symptoms won't go away on a low dose, they may get worse. But you will get soem weird symptoms on the optimum dose too.

I should probably say that I suspect that the Isocort gave me a mild

case of candida....it is just that I read somewhere ( with this brain

fog it is hard to remember where)that anyone taking cortisone should

be aware that it can bring on a case of candia if you are susceptable

to that sort of thing. The itch nearly drove me mad, and the Isocort

was the only new thing that I had started, hence my suspicion, but no

proof.

I have yeast issues too. Not sure how bad since I don't want to test another thing right now.

I can tell you that iodine has helped my breasts. I had fibrous masses in my rt one and they are gone as of my last Dr's check. I also have a history of breast cancer.

I had thyroid cancer and since being on 50 mg's iodoral my markers are almost 50% of what they were.

I agree with Gracia. It seems the more deficient you are the more you need all at once. Dr. B has found this to be true with patients too. He saw little saturation progress on lower doses for longer times.

It's an allergy elimination technique. I have the books to learn how it is done but haven't had the time to do it. Dr. Brownstein does it in his office.
