Yes I see Dr. Brownstein. I have been on 75 mgs since October when I had severe ovarian pain. We did an U/S and the cysts were gone so he decided that my ovaries needed more iodine so he upped me to 75 mgs from 50 mgs which I was on since March. My pain has been gone since so it has helped I believe. We were going to test my saturation in his office in December (he is setting up his own testing lab) but it wasn't quite done yet. I have to call him next week to talk about my progress with the Cortef and discuss what tests to order so then I will talk to him. I haven't had constipation issues until the last few weeks so I am wondering if it is really the cortef or the Iodine or both. It's hard when you start a few new things at once. I was taking 4 scoops of Buffered C Powder from Allergy Research which was a lot of Vit C, Magnesium, Potassium & Calcium but then my gut got gassy and I quit for a while. It did not help the constipation though. :(

Have you asked him about this? When I've brought it up with Flechas he really wasn't helpful other thanto recommend Mg. But if I use the amount of Mg needed to stop theconstipation I get very loose bowels...there's no inbetween. And mypoor mom's get so loose shes' scared to leave the house.Lynne (another poster on this list) contacted Abrahams. He really wasn'thelpful either just saying it was probably the binder of silica in theiodoral. I doubt that since I use plenty of other supplements withsilica and don't have a problem.Lynn

It matters what type of magnesium you are taking. Some, like mag oxide will go

right through you. It is finding the type agrees with you and building to the

right dose. I have found that mag glycinate is very absorbable and `Natural

Calm' is great too.

I just started Cortef for other issues I was having. My adrenals tanked right before Christmas. I need to get my adrenals stable before adding more thyroid (if at all) because the HC can cause a thyroid dump. I had been on 4 1/2 gr and had heart palps, cut to 4 1/4 and still had them. It may have been due to low cortisol. I am a big puzzle due to many issues - still dealing with heavy metal toxicity. That's why I say I am not sure what caused the constipation. I have not had it since starting Iodoral & Armour in March.
