Have you ever wondered what is really in plain old ordinary salt? Here is a listing of the standards for salt. I assume that Iodized salt would be "Salt" (as specified here) with iodine added. Zoe

What is "Salt"? -- CODEX STAN 150-1985 If you have ever wondered what was really in salt, here is a place to look for the official standards. It even includes the allowable amounts of mercury, aluminum, arsenic, lead, copper, and cadmium. "where salt is used as a carrier for one or more nutrients, and sold as such for public health reasons, the name of the product shall be qualified to indicate such purpose, e.g. "salt fluoridated", "salt fortified with iron".
