Guest guest
I believe Flechas recommends 3 years on 50mg daily for FBD. I do not believe you can avoid the "detox" once you get to the right dose. It's part of what iodine does. In fact you want it to happen. Gracia Hi folks! I am a very active member of the Curezone Iodine support forum. CZ is a little more lax when it comes to posting guidlines so please forgive me if I screw up a bit when posting, I WILL familiarize myself with your guidelines:) I have done a lot of research and have gleaned a lot from www.iodine4health.com...I am very impressed with your research so I wanted to join this group and learn as much as I can.I started supplementing Lugol's on February 8th. I am also supplementing magnesium, C, selenium, seasalt, a trace-minerals complex and DIM. I started my dosing at 12.5 mg. per day and am slowly working my way up to the 50 mg. per day re:Flescha. I wanted to up dosing slowly so as to avoid any potential "detox" reactions and that plan is definitely working. I am now at 31.25 mg. per day and have suffered no "detox" since the first week. Iodine supplementation is curing my FBD! My breasts have softened, are getting smaller and the cysts which were very easy to feel(2 of them) seem to be losing definition. It was always my understanding that FBD is a benign condition. Just about 2 mos. ago I learned that it can be a pre-cursor to breast cancer..I learned that listening to a Flescha interview w/Dr. Stan..that was a life-changing experience. Now, from what I've learned, it seems that once up to 50 mg. per day, I'm going to have to stay at that dose for a year or two...Iodine is truly amazing stuff! I am so grateful to have found this therapy...Well, that's who I am, now I guess I'd better go through the archives and try to figure out who YOU are! Aside from a Flescha article I found at vitamin research products website, I haven't found any references. And, yeah, I guess I should clarify myself on the " detox " issue. I want to avoid heavy, hard-hitting detox, if at all possible... Thanks,

I also added zinc at night because I was getting too much acne. That really helped tremendously. I did a zinc talley test to check and could taste no zinc at all. Now I can. Guest guest
If you do get detox symptoms, the salt loading protocol really works. I did it about two weeks ago and it really helped clear up those skin eruptions. I may need to to it again though. It's hard to tell how much iodine I am absorbing using it, but there's no staining, there's no evaporation. Guest guest
Would you post the recipe for the salve? Guest guest
> > Would you post the recipe for the salve? > Thanks, > Irene Hi, Irene, I'm " wombat " over at CZ & here's the recipe. I've modified since this version, eliminated the tea tree and upped the amount of castor oil... ~ Ingredients: 1 oz. extra virgin coconut oil 1 oz. shea butter 1 oz. jojoba oil 1/2 oz. sesame oil 1/2 oz. castor oil 1 oz. beeswax 1/2 tsp. tea tree oil 44 drops Lugol's solution of iodine Fill a pot with water 4-5 " high, place on stove over medium heat. Put 1 oz. shea butter & 1 oz. coconut oil in heatproof measuring cup. Place in water bath and stir with chopstick till melted. Remove from heat. Add castor oil & jojoba oil till volume reaches 4 oz. mark. Add beeswax till volume reaches 5 oz. mark and return to heat. Heat and stir until the beeswax is melted. Add tea tree oil. Remove from heat and add 44 drops Lugol's. Stir very quickly to disperse in oil, this salve begins to thicken quite quickly. Decant into wide- mouth glass jar. Cover and refrigerate until set. I've already used some on my hands, it's very soothing, not greasy at all and soaks in quickly. Very mild scent that does not linger... EDITED: I woke up in the middle of the night last night and realized that I unecessarily complicated this recipe. What I SHOULD have done was measure out the liquid oils(jojoba, sesame & castor) oils first, THEN added the solid oils(coconut & shea) Easier to measure that way rather than measuring the solids first! *doh* THEN put the measuring cup in the hot water bath, melted the coconut & shea, Then add the beeswax...OR, I spoze you could even add the coconut, shea & beeswax all at once! and THEN add the tea tree, remove from heat, add the Lugol's & stir like mad:) ....hehehe...*blush* I will leave the original recipe intact as a testament to my...ummm... ********************************************************************* ********************************************************************* ********************************************* COCONUT OIL- has a cooling property, which lends itself to sun products and burn remedies. It is a very nourishing and non-greasy oil, and smells delightful! * SHEA BUTTER- is very therapeutic, helping to heal cracked, aged or damaged skin. It contains some UV protection, approx. SPF-6. It contains chemical constituents which help to heal bruising and soreness.* JOJOBA OIL- can act as a second skin, providing protection and emmoliancy while still allowing the skin to breathe. Extensively used in products for dry, aged & damaged skin.* SESAME OIL- contains natural sunscreen properties, and has a warming property. In Ayurevedic tradition, sesame oil is used for poor circulation and nervous skin problems.* CASTOR OIL- " There's as much of God in a teaspoonful of castor oil as there is in a prayer! " http://www.holistic-nutrition.com/Castoroil.htm BEESWAX- is a thickener and emulsifier. Very sweet-smelling, accept no substitutes! TEA TREE OIL- a strong antifungal and antiseptic, also useful in acne and infected skin preparations. It has a clean, spicey, yet medicinal aroma.* LUGOL'S SOLUTION OF IODINE- " Iodine applied on the skin can be used to shrink swelling of the thyroid gland (goiters). So even small amounts of iodine absorbed through the skin can have good effects on body organs. From my own clinical experience, repeated application of iodine (Lugol's) to the skin appears to cause regeneration of the skin from the bottom up (Quiescent, stable or stem cell) (3) eventually sloughing the old version of the skin off like a snake molting. If there was a pre-cancerous lesion on the old skin, it is replaced with new skin minus the lesion. There does not seem to be any skin lesions which are not helped or cured by this procedure. In some cases I found clinically obvious low thyroid conditions also needed to be treated to be more effective. Minor lacerations and healing of surgical wounds respond well. If skin regeneration is from the bottom, then there is little or no scar formation. My parents' generation tended to put tincture of iodine onto a fresh wound to prevent infection. This turns out to be helpful but not the best way to use it. Besides it stung badly when applied. It is much more effective (and doesn't hurt) to apply iodine repeatedly after a scab has been formed. The iodine put onto the scab helps to organize total repair of the tissue. It is implied a similar approach could be taken to burns of all depths but at the same time the physiology of burns suggest there is an acute lack of thyroid hormone. (3) All pre-malignant lesions and many other oddities of the skin appear to respond to this regeneration process triggered by topical iodine. I have mentioned previously a patient with a biopsy-proven Breast Cancer lesion (she refused surgery because of previous cancer treatment) that was strongly fixed to the skin responding well to topical iodine and ended up being a dimple on the breast three year later. (6) It is my belief a water solution of iodine (like Lugol's) is an important therapeutic agent for skin. Because of its effectiveness and the results, perhaps many skin diseases are related to local tissue areas of relative iodine deficiency. Perhaps the most graphic lesions are the " keloid " (worm) incision scars formed after surgical procedures. If the iodine intake and tissue levels are adequate, such as in Japan, keloid formation doesn't happen (7). In addition, iodine's ability to trigger natural cell death (apoptosis) (5) makes it effective against all pre-cancerous skin lesions and likely many cancerous lesions. The local site is replaced with normal skin. However, even lesser doses of topical iodine seem to reverse the ominous appearance of skin lesions. Because my older brother died of metastatic melanoma, my chances of getting a malignant melanoma are increased by 400 times. (8-9) Having grown up in Venezuela near the equator my sun exposure at a young age was far above normal. So all suspicious lesions I notice are returned to normal with topical Lugol's. Guest guest
You said you wanted to avoid detox symptoms by starting out with your iodine supplements slowly. I have just ordered Iodoral from Dr. Flechas and he said to start with 50 MG daily. I think I will try it slowly as you have, but I'd like to know two things: 1. How slowly did you go? 12.5 daily for how long, then how much to increase for how long? 2. What sort of "detox" symptoms are you looking to avoid? I have no idea what to expect. Thanks for any guidance... this is such an informed group, I keep on being impressed. Marji See what's free at AOL.com.

BTW, 2 drops Lugol's = 1 tablet iodoral. 12.5 mg total. I started at 12.5 mg. and have been " upping " by 1 drop every 2 weeks or so. I am now at 31.25 mg. per day and will up again in a week or so. My wanting to take it slowly is based only on my intuition that the introduction of this much-needed element to my deprived body would be a shock. And a shock it was, even at 12.5 mg. The " detox " symptoms I've seen at Curezone, across the board, are water retention, frontal headaches & various skin eruptions, sleeplessness...In my first week of supplementation, I had all of those, so honestly, I don't know if my slow " upping " is working or not. I feel that I would have had the same reactions starting at 50 mg. Ah, well, it's my plan & I'm sticking to it:) I believe that the water retention could have been avoided had I heeded another forum member's advice to start the sea salt/water a few days BEFORE the iodine. The salt loading protocol is detailed at www.breastcancerchoices.org, do familiarize yourself with that, takes away the headache. The rest of it just kind of resolved itself, and with the exception of a couple of instances, it's been smooth sailing ever since. I must say that for the most part, I have felt an INCREDIBLE sense of well-being since beginning iodine. I feel very blessed to have found it. Hope I helped, some, AND, yeah, isn't this group amazing? A lot of what's posted here is beyond me, but I'll try! > > Marji > > > > ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. >
