Nothing wrong with that of course. But, Lugol's Solutiion is an old home remedy for preventing food poisoning. I'm sure you only travel in the best places, but when you're not (or if they wind up with bad food anyway) Lugol's Solution / Iodoral is probably not a bad idea. If you took a break while travelling, why did you take it to Canada with you? http://www.tuberose.com/Thyroid.html 5. Some of the knowlegeable iodine docs think that one of the causes of Hashi's in the first place is lack of iodine. I was thinking that Zoe posted something from Fleshas that said when he monitors antibodies they usually don't change with iodine supplementation. Guest guest
kk thanks. I'll see what mine have done when I retest in a couple of months. Started Lugol's last week. Other than that no thyroid meds, just Cortef for adrenals. --- Skipper Beers <lsb149@...> wrote: > >From: JD <ybr1959@...> > > ><<9. Guest guest
My mother had a stroke a day or two before I arrived to visit her in Detroit. I guess my cortisol levels went through the roof because I started to have hypo symptoms while there visiting her in the hospital and found when stopped all unnecessary supplements (iodine, betaine, etc) I stabilized somewhat. --- Skipper Beers <lsb149@...> wrote: > >From: <kennio@...> > > >I am just finishing up my month of dosing iodine at 100mg. Guest guest
Flechas told me I was barking up the wrong tree trying to reverse Hashi's with iodine. That's when he suggested the Betaine and phosphaditylcholine to lower the antibodies. Mine dropped from 96 to 42 and hopefully further next test. --- Skipper Beers <lsb149@...> wrote: > >From: JD <ybr1959@...> > > ><<9. Guest guest
WOW. Thanks & congratulations to you!! I can guess why betaine might help... I know less about phosphatidyl choline... a type of lipid. Do you know how phosphadtidyl choline might help? Guest guest
Awesome! That's great news ! How long have you been taking those to see that kind of drop? Where do you get your Betaine and phosphaditylcholine? How much do you take of each and how often? Why both Betaine and phosphaditylcholine? Are there any side effects to watch out for with either of them? Such as, do they have any type of negative effect on adrenals do you know? Mine were 179 (range 0-150) Thanks! --- <kennio@...> wrote: > Flechas told me I was barking up the wrong tree > trying to reverse Hashi's with iodine. Guest guest
The Betaine free base and Phosphatidylcholine are from the VRP website. I took both for almost 3 weeks and saw the drop in that time. Whether it was a fluke or not will be indictated by my next test. I am just restarting the regimen so I will let you know the results. Flechas told me to take 1/2 teaspoon of betaine and 4 Phosphatidylcholine capsules divided in 2 doses with meals. Not much in the way of side effects since the it is basically a sweetner (osmolyte) and a dietary fat you are taking. --- JD <ybr1959@...> wrote: > Awesome! Guest guest
Thanks for all the info . Please do keep us updated on your tests. Glad you're having such great results so far! --- <kennio@...> wrote: > The Betaine free base and Phosphatidylcholine are > from the VRP website. Guest guest
Very interesting, ! I look forward to hearing about your next test to see if it maintains. Very sorry to hear about your mom. Guest guest
Betaine is a methyl donor. http://www.raysahelian.com/methyl.html The foods richest in phosphatidylcholine, the major delivery form of choline, are beef liver, egg yolks and soya. Beef liver, iceberg lettuce, peanut butter, peanuts and cauliflower are some foods that contain free choline. Choline is a precursor for phosphatidylcholine, sphingomyelin, acetylcholine AND the methyl donor BETAINE. This phosolipid makes up 8 % of of cell membranes and is found in great quantity in the thyroid. It has a rejuvenating effect on the liver also. http://www.clltopics.org/CellBio/Epigenetics.htm http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN & cpsidt=16003455 Just be aware that some think that therapeutic dosing of methyl donors like betaine may switch off unintended genes such as tumor suppressor genes at the same time. --- Apricot85 <apricot85@...> wrote: > WOW.
