Guest guest
Hi Jin The nascent iodine is only 1 % and we use a drop at a time usually every day. My oldest dog 15 years old, weighs 23 lbs and we have seen improvements in movement, and more alertness. With the nascent iodine not many folks, (or pets I suppose) take the additional supplements. With the Shih Tzu, you will probably see results with a drop of Lugols in the water bowl. If you want to make sure it doesn't get too much just change the water after it has been on a walk and drank some. A friend with a 50 lb mixed breed that had an injury noticed a big jump in it's energy level when she started giving it iodine as well. We were discussing the iodine impact on our dogs in a group one evening. An older friend who is somewhat skeptical of iodine was listening to our observations. I turned to him and said, " Don't worry Fred, it is all the placebo effect. The dogs just think that they are feeling better. " We all had a good laugh. --- groupiestuff <groupiestuff@...> wrote: > Hi , > > Do you base it on weight? I rescued a 10 year old > dog Shih Tzu that > is 14lbs. I don't want to overdo it. Guest guest
I don't know thta I would do that as cats especially are VERY picky about the taste of their water and will dehydrate if they do not liek it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Yes, and these tablets are good things to have in your emergency supplies in case of disasters, floods, etc. Campers take them backpacking so they don't have to carry lots of heavy water containers, just a filter system & iodine tablets. Don't know about these neutralizer tablets though, this is the first time I've seen them. http://www.rei.com/product/406032?cm_sp=prod*rel_item*element On Dec 7, 2007, at 10:10 AM, Sam wrote: > Yea, that works. > Did you know iodine has been used to purify water? > http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3912/is_200501/ai_n9478285 > > Sam > > " janiebeau " <JanieBea@...> wrote: >> >> I have a Chihuahua (3.8 lbs.) and a cat (12lbs?) that drink from the >> same dish. Guest guest
Do you know if I could try putting Redmonds on their food? We do put salt on our horse feed. Thanks, Annie/Texas Re: Re: Iodine with Dogs Hi Jin The nascent iodine is only 1 % and we use a drop at a time usually every day. Guest guest
I have a cat that is allergic to the chlorine in tap water. He used to get horrible rodent ulcers from this. Then I have another thta had urinary tract infecitosn all the time. , now thye are ALL on bottled water wiht a pinch of sea salt in it and all are MUCH healthier and drink alot more water! In my researching these problems I found cats have over 50,000 taste buds JUST for water! The chemicals in the tap water they can smell and taste and do no tliek it dso they do not drink enough. Thus all the FUS in today's cats. Th9is is why I worry baout the taste of water for cats, btu if introduced slowly it might work, depends in if they need iodine or not. My kitty thta got rodent ulcers ahds not had any inover 3 years and he is also hypothyroid and takes 9 grains of natural thyroid daily. I may try some iodine with him. He does have autoimmne thyroid disease but can make enough T4 but does not convert well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
You can put a drop or two of Iodine in a gallon of water to kill all bacteria/parasites. Clorox is known to do that but since I read Dr. 's book on how clorox is a cancer causing substance, I don't like it. --- Sylvia Pisarski Onusic <sponusic128@...> wrote: > , This is a great idea.
