Guest guest
what natural hormone would that be? Gracia Hi , Have you considered taking natural hormone to allow your body to produce it's own testosterone? Guest guest
I would recommend the 25 page book " Hormone Balance for Men " by Dr. Lee which you can find at http://www.johnleemd.com/store/more_mens_hormones.html Personally, I wonder if DHEA is low if supplementing with that would solve the problem, as it turns into testosterone and estrogen before excretion. It eleveated my tesosterone level when I took it, and mildly elevated the estrogen. Supposedly, an herb called MACA will prevent it from turning to estrogen. Dr. Lee, mentioned above, doesn't recommend that approach, as he says it's unknown what oral supplementation of DHEA will do, but 10-15 mg if you are low is a reasonable approach. The thing about DHEA is they're simply not real certain about what it does. Anyway, Dr. Lee does tell what levels you should be shooting for in a saliva test. Only a small percentage of doctors understand about bio-identical hormones for women, and I suspect the replacement for men has gotten even less attention, so less understanding. A hormone problems usually aren't as obvious. Skipper >From: " Sam " <k9gang@...> >I would think it's natural testosterone. It's marvelous stuff. I take >it. Guest guest
I have tried it. It made me totally crazy. However my doctor said that most of her patients tolerate it well. It is a precursor to lots of other hormones. Irene At 10:12 AM 8/1/2006, you wrote: >It is in the subject line.... Pregnenolone. It is over the counter. Guest guest
>From: <kennio@...> >It is in the subject line.... Pregnenolone. It is over the counter. >Anyone ever try it? My cholesterol is low, and it's one of those hormones made from cholesterol so I've tried it. Didn't seem to have any effect. On the hormone pathway, it's made from cholesterol then it turns into progesterone then goes all the way down the line to create cortisol,DHEA, testosterone, and estrogen. Ray Peat talked about it a little which you could find with a google search. He recommended taking it only once a week I think. He claims that taking pregnenolone this way actually helps it step up production on its own. Allegedly it can lower cortisol levels a bit. Pregnenolone is the first steroid hormone, and it turns into all the other steroid hormones, depending on what the body decides to do. Guest guest
I love 7-keto 50mg and I love testosterone. 20mg gracia I've used it about 6 months and didn't notice it did anything, good or bad. My doctor had me take Laboratory brand because it supposedly does not convert to testosterone. I think it may be true because I did try another brand and immediately developed acne, which I believe is a sign of excess testosterone. So if you try it avoid Laboratory brand, for anyone wanting more testosterone! Sharon > > It is in the subject line.... Pregnenolone. It is over the counter. Isn't that the whole purpose of 7-keto? What does the DHEA do for you, if it doesn't turn into testosterone? From its pathway, its main purpose appears to be to turn into testosterone / estrogen. So, it doesn't make sense to me, especially since the advertisements for pregnenolone don't mention that. Maybe your doctor is correct, but I don't know what he's basing that on. I do know I've tried pregnenolone and it doesn't seem to help. (I'm going to have to check and see if it's .) It is possible some brands are just ineffective. Guest guest
Weight lifting causes women to increase their natural testosterone, and it works rather quickly. Has tons of other great side-effects too, like helping you build strong bones (even in old ladies). The effect is even greater if you have never lifted weights: you will see a huge improvement very quickly. It helps with all the inflammatory diseases too: your joints start feeling better. Ok, you might have sore muscles for a day ... weight training only takes like 15 minutes every other day too. http://www.newstarget.com/010528.html http://www.trulyhuge.com/weighttrainingandtestosterone.htm -- Heidi > Have you considered taking natural hormone to allow your body to > produce it's own testosterone? > > Orelindel >
Guest guest
my BB doc recommended 7-keto. I had been taking regular DHEA but I like 7-keto much better, it feels stronger. It must be useful in it's own right b/c I don't feel too good without it. I seem to need adrenal/sex/thyroid hormones. I think the iodine is having an effect on these hormones too. My voice is changing from hypovoice to something husky and I can sing again. When I did the 24 hr urine test from AAL, every sex and adrenal hormone was low, even though I was taking some of them. The " husky " voice isn't from too much testosterone is it? I learned something about tonsils. There the reason some of us have soft voices. Not a good idea to have a child's tonsils removed unless you want their voice to be much louder. Guest guest
don't know, but something just recently changed with my voice. I can sing again , not that I am a great singer. I have always had a sexy voice (never realized how to use it though). I don't feel good on less testosterone. Of course I have had my tonsils removed at age 18 in a midieval procedure where I held the bowl for the blood. Most docs I have encountered must have gotten their degrees from Crackerjax boxes. gracia >From: " Gracia " <circe@...> > my BB doc recommended 7-keto.
