Hi everyone,

I started using Iodoral July 31st. I started with 12.5mg. I havent felt any

different at all. Nothing.

However, I am noticing I have MORE little spider viens in my legs. I had just

a few...and then over the weekend noticed about half a dozen more. I am looking

at my legs, and some have seemed to fade.

Anyways, do I understand correctly that lack of iodine can cause the spider

viens in legs? So, I'm wondering why I am seeing more...and its only been the

week.

Also, why no adverse reactions to the low dose? And, should I increase or stay

at the 12.5mg? And if so, why?

Thank you

, I don't know much about the relationship between spider veins and

Iodoral. I have heard of people painting iodine on their legs and getting rid

of spider veins. I have no idea why you were seeing more spider veins over the

weekend.

People are highly individual in their reactions to iodine. It is quite common

to notice nothing. If I were in your shoes, I would increase to two Iodoral

and, if all continues to go well, eventually to 4 and maintain that for 3 or 4

months, then take the iodine loading test.

I would increase it based on Abraham et al recommending it to increase the

iodine stores in the body and to aid in detoxing things like bromide,

perchlorates, fluoride, mercury, etc.

Spider veins are often caused by lack of Vitamin K. Vitamin K makes your

blood vessels and bones strong. Vitamin C fits in there somewhere too,

but mostly I hear about Vit K.

Anyway, Vit K is produced in your gut. So anything that changes your gut

bacteria can throw it off. It also comes from some foods, mostly stuff

like green vegies and seaweed.

I have found that used *topically*, iodine seems to reduce spider veins.

I'm not sure why, but it's been injected into varicose veins to close

them up, so maybe there is a connection.

There may or may not be any connection to the spider veins and taking

iodoral ... theoretically, if the iodoral changes your gut fauna, that

might cause less Vit K, but there isn't any evidence that I've heard

that this actually happens. And the Japanese, who eat a lot of seaweed,

aren't noted for osteoporosis, which they would get if the high-iodine

seaweed caused lack of vitamin K. But it's also true that spider veins

show up more when your circulation is better, so if you are getting

better circulation (something I notice when I'm in better health) then

the spider veins will show up more.
