Both Abraham and Brownstein recommend using salt to get rid of the bromide. In

Iodine (2nd ed), Brownstein frequently prescribes unrefined salt along with the

iodine. He most commonly recommends 1/2 teaspoon for the patients in his book,

although he sometimes recommends more.

Brownstein has a chapter in his Salt book where he talks about bromide detox.

Here are a couple previous emails quoting from Brownstein on salt and bromide:

How do you lower Bromine levels? -- Brownstein

Email 1348. " In Iodine, Brownstein has a section devoted to lowering Bromine (pp

106-109). His program seems to have three components: (1) stop ingesting bromide

containing food and medicine, (2) take iodine, (3) eat unrefined salt (NaCl). "

Case Study on Iodine Supplementation with Bromide Detox. Brownstein.

Email 992. " In the 2nd edition of Iodine, Brownstein gives a case example of

someone who was hypothyroid, with heavy levels of bromine, who was placed on

50mg of iodine (4 Iodoral tabs). Her symptoms initially worsened, due to a

bromine detox. It is the story of " Ellen " .

Abraham (in his article on Vitamin C) has some fascinating statistics on using

salt to increase the bromide detox (increased bromide in the urine) and to

reduce the symptoms of the bromide detox.

Lynn I saw this on your website. Who is saying that Salt will help with the

detoxing?

Since bromide excretion seems to be higher in breast cancer patients than

undiagnosed persons (29), it is important that each patient develop a strategy

with

her physician to clear the bromide. Ways of eliminating detox symptoms by

taking 1/4-

1/2 teaspoon of salt (Celtic salt is preferred) in water are currently being

investigated.

Dr. Brownstein recommends a buffered C powder to combat the detoxing symptoms.

This powder contains Vit C, Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium.

Just curious as I don't remember it in Salt your way to Health.

Thanks Zoe. I read all of Dr. B's books in a matter of 4 weeks and now my mom

has them so I can't go back and look at them. It's driving me crazy because I

want to re-read them.
