It was right around the time I started taking threelac and oregano oil that

my stools started improving dramatically. This is after, oh, about 5 years

of chronically loose stools. I'm on my second or third month of Threelac,

still taking 2 packets a day, and my stools are consistently good, except on

occassion when I eat something bad (happened a couple of times).

I can't say for sure that it's the Threelac that's really made the

difference, or the combo of Threelac and Oregano oil, but I suspect the

Threelac is really helping.

As you probably noticed, though, from posts to the candida list, that it

doesn't help everyone. And it IS pricey as said, but if you're still

having gut problems after all the other things you've tried, I think it's

worth a shot.

Just to add to Jafa's questions, what specifically are you using oregano oil

for?

The only two brands I've tried are the Wild Oats brand and North American

Herb & Spice's " Oreganol . The WO brand was useless, the Oreganol works

spectacularly. I recall reading their literature a long time ago and they

said something to the effect that most other oregano oils are made from

Mexican oregano as opposed to Mediterranean oregano, IIRC, which apparently

is a different plant.

I put 10 drops into a *gelatin* capsule (vegetarian capsules take too long

to dissolve) and swallow with water, 3x/day.

Suze, how can you tell it is working? What effect does it have on

your good bacteria and the community in your gut?

Thanks,

I gauge it's efficacy entirely by the lack of external feminine itch when

I'm on it. It's the only symptom I have that I'm completely certain is due

to KANdiduh (Grrrrr! HATE that pronunciation >:|) This *may* not be a

systemic infection since it's a proximal issue (short distance between anus

and external feminine area, LOL), but I think Oreganol probably works well

for systemic infections. Although, when I start getting really serious about

dealing with my candida symptoms I will take proteolytic enzymes with

proteases and cellulases along_with the Oreganol and Threelac. The enzymes

strip the proteinaceous and fibrous coating off the yeast making it easier

for the Oreganol to destroy it. I'll probably start that protocol in the

next month or two. From what 's said though, proteolytic enzymes aren't

appropriate for everyone - they might irritate the gut in some folks. I've

used the cellulase ones before with some success (no problems), but haven't

yet tried the proteases. I'll start with a low dose and see how it goes.

I should also mention that I eat kimchi twice daily and take about 6 big

swigs of home-brewed EM daily as well. These probably help keep candida at

bay, too. Oh and L.rheuteri seems to help as well. It's supposed to have

anti-candid properties, and I can get it fairly inexpensively in a local

store. I only stopped using it because my supplier ran out and didn't

re-stock.
