Hi Carol

If you don't hear from them during the course of the following week, I would write them a little reminder Carol and explain that you took the letter personally to the PCT on 1st December. It is usual to give them a couple of weeks, but don't leave it any longer because it is too easy for them to forget. Did you address it to anybody in particular or did you just hand it into reception?

Luv - Sheila

Hi there Sheila It was addressed to the person who phoned me. I have a copy of the letter on my pc. My sister said perhaps I should have given them a timeframe. The next letter will have a timeframe for a reply, with a copy of the first letter. Carol X Re: How long should you wait for a reply from PCT?

Hi Carol - the PCT will have a complaints procedure and will have a timescale to respond - think its about 3 weeks but if you ring the PCT and ask to speak to someone in the dept that deals with complaints they should tell you what it is. Of course the person receiving the letter might not have flagged it with the complaints person (as they should do) so it might be worth ringing them to check they know about it!

Hi Gill Many thanks, I will do that as I have a contact at the complaints dept. from the complaint about my GP. Which they have told me nothing so far except he wrote them a lovely letter. My eye! I told them what he says and what he does are two different things. Will phone them tomorrow, and will post the outcome. I did tell her last week that I had written to this person as it was them that put her on to me, and at the time I said they would probably hear about the letter I wrote. Hi Carol - if you have any problems write to the chief executive - the letter will be passed to the appropriate person to reply but this will ensure that the timescales are kept to as they will write the response for the CE to reply to!!

Hi there GillThey got back to me, apparently the person to whom I sent the letter at the pct the prescriptions adviser has informed the complaints dept. of my letter, and they are going to write to me themselves! Can't wait to read it. The lady at the complaints dept. said she would be sent copies of all the correspondence once it had been sent out to me.Am waiting to hear from the hospital about my question to them on whether they are conducting any trials on thyroid meds. This is what the prescriptions adviser told me and the reason she says that Dr is not prescribing Amour to any new NHS patients at the moment, I think its a lie and that he has been told not to prescribe to any more patients on the NHS, I took a look at the audit commissions website and our pct has

been told of ways to keep down the costs of prescribing and apparently ours was underbudget last year.Sheila said that if it is in the public domain then they should tell me about any trials. Will keep you all posted.
