Guest guest
Carol, I was on 150mcg thyroxine when I was first put on T3 by a doctor, I was told to stop taking the thyroxine for three weeks. Then he started me on 10 (not sure if it is mcg or mc ut they come in a 20 dose so had to cut it in half), for three days, if I was OK he then told me to take the other half at lunch time. This was done for another 3/4 days when he told me to take another half at dinner time. Then all being well I started on a whole pill in the morning, half lunch time and half in the evening. When my body had got used to that we started to reintroduce the thyroxine a little at a time. It took many weeks before I got to my right dose. I ended up needing 100 mcg thyroxine and 2 T3 tablets one in the morning and one at lunch time. After about a year of taking the thyroxine and the T3 I decided I would change to Armour as it has both the T4 and T3 in it. 100mcg of thyroxine and 2 T3 tables worked out at 4 grains a day. As the Armour contains both thyroxine and T3 then I think your thyroxine only should be stopped completely for at least a couple of weeks and the Armour should be introduced very gradually. You might find that after introducing T3 you will not require as much thyroxine and therefore Armour which equals 75mcg thyroxine (or less) would be sufficient as you are having the T3 as well. I will check what to do when it comes as I have a sieve of a memory. I am looking forward to trying it and hope it makes me feel even better. Although I am not sure what it will taste like. I plan to let it disolve in my mouth, hope I can. Carol
Guest guest
>> I shall stop taking my thyroxine from tomorrow <<< Bearing in mind your order might be delayed because of the postal strike here, it might not be wise to stop your thyroxine from tomorrow. It might be better to wait until you have the Armour in your posession and then you will know exactly where you stand. How awful would it be if you have stopped the thyroxine but the Armour is delayed in arriving. >>> as was worried it would get lost in the huge pile of mail there will be >>> at all the royal mail depots. <<<< There will be even more now that the strike is on >>>I am not sure what it will taste like.<<< Not very pleasant in my view >>>I plan to let it disolve in my mouth, hope I can.<<< If put up on the gums between teeth and lip and let dissolve there, or under the tongue there is no taste - except when it sort of wanders or you forget it is there and suddenly find yourself chewing on something in your mouth. Personally I swallow mine in the morning on an empty stomach with my BP pills. Lilian
