Guest guest
H If you have a private test done throughNPTech Services (a private laboratory) then NPTech will send the results to YOU either via email or by snail mail. They do not send them to your GP or anybody else. Often the patient will ask NPTech to send their results direct to Dr P or to somebody else, because they need their doctor to see the results as soon as possible, often prior to a consultation, but that is ONLY done at the request of the patient. NPTech do these tests for people unable to get them done through their NHS medical practitioner. Hope that helps Luv - Sheila Hi all,I have a question. The results of thyroid and adrenal tests from NPTech Services have to be sent to a GP - or Dr Peatfield as when I had mine done. Sometimes I have noted that members are advised to get tests done - but they cannot have the results sent to them only a to doctor. Which laboratory does independent tests without having the results sent to a doctor? B No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi denise You are correct, NPTech do not do 24 hour urine test for thyroid function, but even if they did, they would still send the test results to you unless you asked them to send to your doctor. I hadn't realised that AWDL always send your tests to your doc. Seems strange, when you are the one that is paying out for them LOL ;o) Luv - Sheila Hiya Shiela.........I have a question. The results of thyroid and adrenal tests from NPTech Services have to be sent to a GP - or Dr Peatfield.....I think I am getting two laboratories mixed up. I sent for adrenal stress profile and urine thyroid function tests from IWDL Genova Diagnostics and they told me that the results have to be sent to my GP/Dr.P. NPTech whom you say send the resuslts to the patient, do not do urine tests for thyroid function. No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi ......Have they changed recently? I got my own results when I used NPTech?...... I ordered adrenal and thyroid test kits two weeks ago from NPTech and in red lettering on the form it stated that the results have to be sent to a GP. When I phoned they told me that I could have the results sent to me as well - they would note it on the screen - I told them that I was getting the tests done prior to my other half making an appointment with Dr P as I was not sure whether he would be having a phoned consultation or a clinic visit. Guest guest
This certainly was not the case last year - I used to get my results and NP Tech also sent my results to Dr. P as well... If indeed the process has changed to only informing the consulting Dr. it may well be worth stating on all future test forms the client wishes to have copies of all the test results. Guest guest
Hi everyone, This is an email I've just received from NPTech services when I asked them about test results: " Dear Results are normally reported within 2 -3 days from arrival at NPTech. We can e-mail them if you have a particular urgency, otherwise results are sent by first class post. Results would go to you with a copy to your Doctor, if that is what you stipulate. All results are reported on the basis that they will be discussed with a medical practitioner. Hope that is helpful Ron T " From this I would assume that they only go to your doctor if you want them to, unless I am not interpreting it correctly. Guest guest
I've just double checked my adrenal tests tonight when I got home, and it doesn't say anything about sending the results to my doctor. In fact, they don't even have my doctor's details.Maybe it's something specifically to do with the thyroid test, as my adrenal one definitely doesn't say anything. Guest guest
That is how I understand the situation Angie. I have had several tests done through NPTech Services and I am the ONLY one who gets the results. I pay for them - so they are mine and nothing whatsoever to do with my doctor. A copy WILL go to your doctor if you request them to do this. luv - Sheila "Dear Results are normally reported within 2 -3 days from arrival at NPTech. Guest guest
Hi June Thousand apologies - my brain is like marshmallow at the moment. I meant to say that IWDL Genova Diagnostics only send test results to the GP. I wanted a 24 hr urine thyroid test for my other half and NPTech only does blood tests. I did ask IWDL if they would send a copy to me as well - I don't think they were too happy with that but they agreed. Sorry B
Guest guest
Always remember , it is YOUR money that has paid for the tests and you are entitled to the results. If anybody in any lab gives you the impression that they are not happy to send a copy to you, then let them know in no uncertain terms that it is you that is helping to pay their wages.
