Guest guest
Hi Gracia, > well I am sure you will figure it out and feel better soon. If you are labeled hyper however, doc will want to put you on iodine blocker! or destroy your thyroid gland! Do you feel better on cortef? Here is what the doc suggested: Alpha lipoic acid 300mg/2x Bugleweed Rx PTU only if needed. I'm not sure what I am going to do. I had a cold last week and started the Cortef at 5mg/4x. I got through two doses and nothing was different so as the book suggested for colds I doubled. A few hours after the first 10mg I felt fine. Still with the cold, but fine and normal. Hallelujah. Better than I felt in a long time. I am back down to 5mg/4x, still getting rid of the cold, still feeling fine. I need to pay more attention to my BP, pulse and reflexes to see how hyper I think I still am. I have not noticed nearly as many problems since the Cortef. But based on my own reassessment, I will think about taking the Alpha lipoic acid and also some low dose lithium. Not sure I'll need more. Not sure about the Bugleweed unless it specifically acts on the antibodies, not just hormones. Absolutely not the PTU unless I'm about to die. And I am definitely getting a new doc - have an appointment in 2 weeks. I spoke with him on the phone and told him I had put myself back on Cortef and he seemed supportive. Time for a new direction. Thanks much & take care, Sharon
Guest guest
>From: " Gracia " <circe@...> > hmmmm > I would blame low cholesterol on low adrenals (I have low cholesterol >too). Maybe I would blame my low adrenals on low iodine. I have taken >other minerals for years and years, since I saw Carl Pfeiffer MD at Brain >Bio Center in Princeton NJ. You know he was a fan of dolomite. > Gracia Whereas I 've heard doctors say the same, the fact is that cholesterol is produced by the liver. If cholesterol is low, how would adrenals produce adequate hormones as they are all manufactured from cholesterol? No cholesterol = No adrenal hormones. The question is how low does cholesterol have to be in order to cause adrenal problems? Mercola says that only 10% of the population have total cholesterol below 180. Therefore, I doubt anywhere under that is a good place to be. Another factor is that thalassemia (an inhertied anemia) can cause low cholesterol. I've read it's common with Mediterranean heritage, my English and ish ancestry doesn't seem to fit that, but I had them take our hemoglobin A2 and we seemed to be in the range for it. Which explains my wife's borderline anemia, as well as my son's and also my low cholesterol. The low cholesterol explains the low adrenal production. skipper _________________________________________________________________ Share your special moments by uploading 500 photos per month to Windows Live Spaces http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwsp0070000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://www.get\ ..live.com/spaces/features
Guest guest
How much iodine were you taking and also were you on thyroid hormones? > > Gracia & , > I tend to agree with you both!
