I think maybe that was me... I'm Sara. Sorry I didn't ask for your name, my

tummy was feeling kinda tight and I was trying not to burp right in your

face! :)

To the person I saw at Tacoma Radiology today getting a fill. I am sorry I

didn't get a chance to introduce myself. I came out from getting the fill

and you had already left. My name is Deborah - it's good to put a name to a

face. Hope to hear from you.

Sara, good sense of humor! I totally understand. I just posted another email

and am kind of worried about the fill. Did you have any problems? Did the Dr.

instill confidence that he knew what he was doing? Anyway, it is good to meet

you.

I didnt' feel just bursting with confidence... he seemed kind of unsure of

himself. And the woman working the table was having all kinds of problems

too. He gave me 2 cc's (first fill) and man, I am tight! Had my first PB

tonight trying to finish the hamburger patty I started for breakfast, worked

on for lunch and tried to eat a little too fast for dinner. Whoops! At least

now I know what " that feeling " means. :)

I know what you mean. I tried to eat fish for lunch yesterday and PB'd.

I'm certainly not fond of doing that, but dinner went much better. I had

soup and some grilled mushrooms and was satisfied. This is certainly a

learning thing for me too.

Phone for TRA is 253-761-4200, they are very helpful. The only problem I have

noticed is that is sometimes hard for me to make a trip there fit my

schedule. The appointments all seem to be around 1ish and that chops my work

day right in half to get there from Portland.

Good luck!

first timer. I know I need to call and ask the doctor, but what's you're take

on eating before a fill? Should I fast?

I've had two fills done at Tacoma Radiology -- my first one was done by Dr.

Procutto -- he was great, my experience was the same as Sarina's. He was

attentive, professional -- and overall good experience.

My second fill he wasn't available so I went to another doctor, unfortunately

I can't remember his name. He was an idiot. He had a lot of trouble hitting

the port (which I can understand -- mine is a bit tilted); my port was no

more tilted however, than it was the first time I went. This second doctor made

nasty comments about getting the surgery out of the country and how them not

suturing it in place was because they didn't give a damn about their patients.

If he hadn't had the needle already in point that point I would have told him

to stick it in his A$$. I'll never let him touch me again!

bob, I think you need to read more carefully.

#1 - When I said " don't expect them to wait on you hand and foot " , it was

as a warning to newbies or pre-bandsters to seriously consider staying local

for their surgery if they are at all nervous about follow-up care.

Newsflash: I wasn't talking to you, or about you. I did not even know that

you had six fills at TRA.

BTW, that *is* a lot - who was the doctor who stuck you on six different

occasions and failed to access your port? I'll bet it wasn't Dr. " never

miss " Piexotto!!!

#2 - I'm sorry you had a bad experience at TRA, but you making a big deal

out of how awful it was, does not help anybody researching aftercare on

these lists. Many of us depend on TRA for our fills, and have done just

fine. Don't you think it's important for newbies to know how to get an

experience like mine, instead of the one you had? My post was intended to

*tell* them how to.

And finally,

#3 - Where did I say that all fat people are high strung? I said

radiologists do not " have time to coddle high strung fat people! " - that's a

direct quote. Ergo, *IF* you are a high strung bandster, you MAY want to

consider going to a local doctor for surgery in the first place so you will

feel more secure. Capice?

Pre-op and newbie bandsters deserve to have all the facts. Your side of the

story isn't the only one out there - TRA is not perfect, but for many, it

will do just fine (especially if you know how to make it a good experience,

which is what I was trying to share). If you had told me you were having

trouble getting a proper fill with them, I would have gone with you just as

I have others, if you had asked.

So please don't put words in my mouth anymore. You have picked on me like a

jealous highschool girl since the day I met you, and frankly I am getting

tired of it. Go take out your bandster rage on someone who truly deserves

it.
