As far as I know there is nobody doing gastric banding at the University of

Washington. And from what I know I doubt as if there ever will be (although

I could be wrong about that) but one of the head laparoscopic surgeons is

very against banding seeing as how he is somewhat famous for laparoscopic

gastric bypass techniques.

I know Dr. in Oregon (at OHSU) has accepted some Medicare

patients. The problem with Medicare is that they pay so little (if they pay

at all) that both the hospital and the surgeons actually lose money on

Medicare patients. Very few banding surgeons take Medicare patients and

they usually limit the number of Medicare patients they are willing to

accept. I know you may not like hearing this, but it's the reality of the

situation.

: no, it's not too soon (by my rules) for you to be eating blended

soups -- but you should follow the instructions you got from your surgeon.

We suggest patients can go to " full liquids " like blended soups after 2 or 3

days. Add a little extra water to the pot if it seems too thick.

Gayle: congratulations on losing 60 pounds! You are doing wonderfully.

Phyllis: I hope this works for you. Glad to hear you are OK. Pepcid

Complete is your friend. I know it's more expensive but I personally find

that it works WAY better than Tums and tastes better too.
