I had a similar problem. I was taking 1/2 iodoral per day. I think for me I

wasn't taking enough magnesium. But that is only a guess. I have stopped

the iodoral and haven't started it up again yet.

You might try soaking in epsom salts and see if that helps.

I second that guess.

Hmm, thats interesting, thanks I will look into that.

I have been juicing and trying to eat high magnesium foods. I never

noticed a difference with supplements, but maybe need to consider it

again.

Thanks

1-6 drops of Lugols are NOT low doses of iodine.

A low dose would be something like the MDR of 150 mcg, or a

moderate dose up to the World Health Organization toxicity

limit of 1000 mcg (1 mg).

After that, you're dealing in " high dose " . 6 drops Lugols is

off the charts high dose.

What you're experiencing are iodine toxicity symptoms, possibly

hyperthyroid. Got too much of a good thing?

Many don't know that minerals in excess are toxic. What that

limit is varies with the individual.

this does sound adrenal. I found I just HAD to have 50mg Iodoral, not any

less. I am not sure how much 1-6 drops of Lugols is.

IMO taking too little Iodoral is like taking too little Armour---you sure

won't feel good.

Although that may be true that I was just taking too little, it might also

be true that the detox from the iodine was overwhelming my detoxification

systems. Right now I think it is a little too risky for me to try taking more.

Another wild guess ... histamines. The whole histamine balance gets

tossed out of whack by a lot of things, including " getting better " .

High histamine levels lead to restless sleep and nightmares,

even though for a lot of people the type of histamines

produced don't cause a drippy nose or anything like that.

I don't know much about it: I'm just learning. But ...

taking 1g of Vitamin C before bedtime does wonders. (or take

it with dinner if it bothers your stomach).

Don't take C that is mixed with vit B though. Vit B

raises histamine levels, and will make you more wakeful.

I did reading and thought that my Lugol's Iodine contained 130mcg per

drop. Now I am relooking (it doesn't say on the bottle) and I found

that on one site it says it contains " about 8.3 mg iodide per drop "

another site says " about 8mg per drop " and another " 6.5mg per drop)

So I was really getting too much, either way.

I have read that when introducing iodine in a severe deficiency it

can cause adrenal and thyroid issues as the body adjusts to having it

there. And that you need to start very slowly.

I have many thyroid symptoms and my TSH was at 2.85. My children also

have slight hypothyroid TSH levels. So I was wanting to give them

some iodine to see if we can't get those up into a better range (They

do have some symptoms of slow thyroid)

So far I have not taken anymore iodine, but feel like I need it. I

may do one drop a day or every other day. Or even 2 times a week. Not

sure yet.

Thanks
