Guest guest
Hi Sharon, >Whenever I feel like that it is always adrenal stress. With regular >low sugar, I recover pretty easily with food. But with adrenal low >blood sugar, it can take several hours or longer to feel good. Interesting! I think it is important that I do not experience ANY more blood sugar reactions. My adrenals will only be the worse for it >I find this really interesting, that your blood sugar problems >coincide with your yeast problems. Is it possible that the yeast is >actually causing the blood sugar problem, as opposed to the sugar >causing the yeast problem? I wonder because iodine has been mentioned >as a treatment for yeast, and I know when yeast get 'treated' they >tend to get desperate and cause things like cravings, etc. No, the first blood sugar reaction happened with my first drop of lugols. Definitely the blood sugar fluxuations are bringing on the yeast. I have been through yeast die-off before years ago. It was headaches for me. I assume the blood sugar highs which precede the lows puts sugar in the urine, vaginal secretions, etc. ?
Guest guest
Maple syrup isn't raw. It is boiled down from sap of maple trees. Rewad the ingredient list. If it contains ANYTHING other than mayple syrup, it's not real maple syrup. Guest guest
If you watch the ads from drugs stores you will see blood sugar kits being sold with 100% rebates. They make all their money with the refills. > > No, I'm not diabetic and I have no gear to take blood sugar tests, though I > could have my type 1 brother test me if he is around next time it happens. Guest guest
OY LOL I had all this blood sugar flucutation stuff b4 thyroid/adrenal meds. had to eat every few hours, lots of protein, couldn't tolerate alcohol or carbs at all. Chnaged completely with Armour and cortef for adrenals. IMO ENOUGH iodine/iodide can only help you with blood sugar issues, but you may also need thyroid and adrenal meds. You are in Europe? you know you have a great doc in Belgium, Thierry Hertoghe MD. Gracia Will you please elucidate? Thanks! -----Original Message-----From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of GraciaSent: Friday, January 12, 2007 11:10 AMiodine Subject: Re: Re: blood sugar problems on iodine sounds like you need thyroid/adrenal meds. Gracia No, I’m not diabetic and I have no gear to take blood sugar tests, though I could have my type 1 brother test me if he is around next time it happens. I used to have lots of problems with the blood sugar roller coaster before going WAPF… Work in the garden all morning, start feeling shaky, stand up and be all dizzy…Go to the house and eat the first sweet thing to hand, sit down and wait for it to take effect… These reactions I’m getting from iodine are similar to this, although more severe and slower to correct and leave me tired and weak. Its weird. Also, I’ve taken kelp for years without a problem. -----Original Message-----From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of mwm1glmSent: Friday, January 12, 2007 8:45 AMiodine Subject: Re: blood sugar problems on iodine ,Are you taking your blood sugar to know if this is truly ahypoglycemic reaction or judging this from your physical symptoms? Mydaughter is a Type 1 diabetic, so I'm going from my experience withher and iodine, figuring that if it had a drastic effect on bloodsugar it would affect her much quicker than it would someone who isnot diabetic. She's had no problems with iodine affecting her BG. One drop threw me into a low bloodsugar attack on my first try of Lugols. I took a drop of lugols every otherday for a month after that without any problems. Then, I worked my wayslowly up to 4 drops per day.................I'm heavy on adrenal and hormonal symptoms. My family seems to turn out people like me. Skinny, cold, allergic, unbalanced hormones.I tossed aroundall night with a pounding heart. Feel ok today.>> Hi , I totally respect what you're saying....I hope others more knowledgeable than I will chime in! One reason I mention adrenal support is that I have a long history of trying iodine in various forms--iodoral, lugol's, iosol, kelp. It always made me feel hyper and then ill. In fact, I first joined this forum last year in order to learn why I couldn't tolerate iodine in any of its forms. Recently due to severely low pulse and bp, I started taking Cortef and within a couple of months of that, I tried Iodoral again and have no problems (so far!) tolerating it. I'm currently taking 50 mgs. I never thought that would happen! I also take Armour thyroid and the Cortef also helped me raise that dosage to more appropriate levels. I don't think I can tell the difference between hypoglycemia and low adrenal shakiness. I used to confuse the two; now when I get the shakes, I know I need a dose of cortef. Prior, I would eat, drink celtic salt water, take vitamin c, minerals--and I could never rid of the 'shakes'. I have no idea if this is at all like what you're experiencing, but if it is, I hope this post helped! Dahlia
Guest guest
why not use 25mg 2X a day, since that is such a therapeutic dose? Gracia I have always had dry, cracking calloused feet too...but the iodine supplementation has made a huge difference..my feet look normal for the first time since I was 25 or so, and I'm 42 now. I have been using kelp and potassium iodide for about five months now. I did purchase some iodoral a month ago, and have been using it for about a week now. Since I started it, I have been really thirsty, and I crave carbs too late in the day. Only taking two a day for now. I had noticed that my fibroids were shrinking as well, but in the last few days, I have begun to feel "full" again in the belly. I will give it another week or two, but I may just go back to the old routine...I felt better then.
