Hi Jens,

Thanks for this information! Could you say a bit more about what you're

finding with iodine??

How much are you telling patients to take and what type?

Hi Lynn

To my knowledge the test does not reveal deficiencies or requirements for single elements. Only exception might be calcium which is treated as a separate and special issue. Reams takes about a large number of different types of calcium organised in 6 groups (I think) with different properties. Normally we operate with three different calcium formulations used according to the pH readings. Maybe BIRI can give you more information.

For iodine I am very careful. One reason is that we eat quite a lot of fish and seafood in Norway. Our sea is fairly clean so there is no big concern for pollution as far as I know. One reason I joined the group was that I quite often give lectures for the thyroid association in Norway and while surfing on the net I came across the homepage of Brownstein. I realised that I needed to learn more about iodine. I have found a lot of information but due to lack of time, I feel I do not know enough to make specific recommendations outside the standard. An other problem is that nobody can do the challenge test here. But I am working on it and hope to find a MD to work with on the issue.

Sorry to be of little help.

Jens
