I think it's >meaningful and empowering to look at ourselves, and the healthcare mess we >are in. And how many children does Skipper have anyway? LOL > Gracia Three children. My daugther is 22. She was on thyroid medication, and it cured her costochondritis. When she left home she stopped taking it and wonders why her body's falling apart. I made her do a book report on Dr. Derry's " Breast Cancer and Iodine " for me when she was a senior. Her great grandmother died of cervical cancer at age 31, and the female parts are one of the first places for iodine to charge to, once the thyroid is saturated. Anyway, she had ovarian cysts. She had operation. I guess she should have taken the iodine. Of course, she's somewhat brain dead, in my opinion, considering how smart and mature she was at one time. Low thyroid can do that to you. And the low iodine we have in this region isn't so great either. My oldest son is 17. From age 7 he developed an " eating disorder " . I know now, it was probably from eating too much cereal (what's the harm in that since we live in Battle Creek, the cereal capital?). Anyway, some sites say it's high in fluoride, which would explain a lot. Hypothyroidism can look like anorexia. He was emaciated, and would be urgently hungry, sit down to eat and only be able to get down a couple bites before he said, " I'm stuffed. " The doctor wouldn't treat him even after I printed out something from the Magic Foundation, a children's growth clinic that stated lack of appetite and change in rate of lineal growth were two childhood symptoms of hypothyroidism. He had cholic as a baby, I know now it was because the doctor gave him fluoride drops since our water wasn't flouridated. A couple months later the pediatrician told my wife that fluoride can cause constipation and colic. He didn't mention it was the active ingredient in rat poison. Yes, I used to believe the establishment medical profession, and it's cost me quite a lot. That son is no longer on thyroid medication, doesn't appear to need it, and his body temp is normal. Hypothyroidism isn't always forever, there's a cause sometimes. In his case I think it was his obsession of eating cereal, and the fluoride content or some other toxin in the cereal. Grain itself isn't particularly healthy. Ages 7 to 10 were extremely rough for him because of this. He went from the 90th percentile in height to short. Now he's over 6 feet, because he went on 3 grains of Armour for six years. My youngest son is 16. He only needed Armour when he had braces, and was rinsing with fluoride. If only I knew back then how bad flouride was. I know when I went to the dentist I refused their fluoride rinse because it made me deathly ill. Now I know why.
