i am fascinated by your information.

i recently used Lugol's on a " localized myxedema " (same as pretibial

myxedema) area on my cheek/jawline and was totally amazed at how it

resolved the area. i have a few other areas of " localized myxedema "

(non-pitting edema type) i am going to experiment with the lugol's.

But i'm not familiar with the PT Skin Iosol product. can you tell me

your ordering source?

When you mention sinus...i believe i had some sinus damage when i had a

root canal/crown done...and your post makes me want to paint that area

too.

Hi Adeha,

Fascinating post....what exactly is PT Skin Iosol? Where above your

eye did you put it? Want to be sure not to do any harm:-))

Thank you for sharing your experience and information!

WOW! Thanks for success stories. I've had sinus/facial problems for 22

years. In fact right now, my eyes are so swollen and puffy and my face

THROBS litteraly. I'd look funny if I painted iodine all over. Would be

wonderful if the Iodoral eventually helped. So happy for you. Carol B

Fascinating post....what exactly is PT Skin Iosol? Where above youreye did you put it? Want to be sure not to do any harm:-))But i'm not familiar with the PT Skin Iosol product. can you tell me your ordering source?PT Skin Iosol (formula VI) is put out by TPCS. It is like Lugol's except that it's made with iodine and ammonium iodide instead of potassium iodide. It's made specifically for the skin absorption test, but you can also use it as treatment, since it is absorbed. I only started using it that way because I had a bottle of it and thought to use it up. Since it worked so well for me, I've just kept using it.  Lugol's might be better at getting rid of skin stuff, since the Iosol hasn't done a great job on that for me, and I plan to get some Lugol's one of these days for comparison.I put a dime size or smaller dot of the Iosol over/in the highest arch of my eyebrow, since that's where the skin thing was I wanted to get rid of. Interestingly, that's practically on top of an extra acupoint said to strongly influence the eye. I've never had the Iosol try to run into my eye, which I don't think would be good. The eyebrow blocks it somewhat, and I'm careful.I only paint my face with it when I'm not going to town for a few hours. If you did it at night, it would be gone by morning, but you might have trouble sleeping. Try it some day and find out how long it takes to absorb, then you know when you'll have time to use it without getting funny looks.PT Skin Iosol only comes in 1/2 oz bottles which last me about ten days.  There is another version ("Iosol") which is for oral use, not as strong as Lugol's, but maybe different absorption since it is also the ammonium form. That form of Iosol is in a glycerine base.   A good friend has had similar results with getting rid of breast cysts using about a fifth of the amount I use.  A bottle might last her a month. She's very sensitive, and you may be too, so do start slow, especially on the face. iHerb.com is a good source. The  webpage is http://www.iherb.com/store/productdetails.aspx?c=Herbs & pid=TPC-10019 & utm_source=gb & utm_medium=dfIf you try it, I hope you'll let us know how it works for you.Adeha

Hi Adeha,

Congratulations on the good changes you spoke about!! I might try the

eye thing when my Lugol's arrives, too, as my vision has been getting

worse every year.

I have only one question to ask, and that is:

How do you paint the Iosol all over your body, avoiding staining

everything around you? I have tried to envision a tool I could use

that might hold the Iodine without dripping it all over, but can't

find it yet. I plan to paint the soles of my feet mostly, so will find

an old bathmat or something to use underneath while painting. But

having stained most of my underwear, sheets, etc already, I would like

to not drip Iodine on anything else. Suggestions?

Hi Robin,How do you paint the Iosol all over your body, avoiding stainingeverything around you?I just use the side of the glass dropper tube to spread the Iosol around. Spread it out thin, and it dries pretty quickly. Start with just a quarter dropperful  or less til you get the hang of it, or you'll make a mess. I started out using my finger, but that wasted too much in hand washing,  and also my fingers were getting more iodine than they needed. You'll also find you can position some other part of your body under the place you're painting to catch any wayward drips. Or arch your body so drips run down, not off, your skin.If you get too much in one place, wipe it with your forearms or some other part of your body. (Glad there're no funniest home video cameras in my bathroom!) Consider it a new form of yoga!Hope this helps,Adeha

I am trying to smooth out a scar on my forehead and I was using Iosol. It seemed to be helping, but I read somewhere that Lugol's drops would work as well, and I'm wondering if anyone knows which might be best. I have both available. Thanks for any advice.

This is going o make me unpopular, but pls don't paint a large area

of your body unless you have really calculated tghe strength.. I have

read of death from painting large areas of body, but unsure of what

strength that was.

This is what I read, Its not very specific unfortunately

/SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS/ Inhalation of ... vapor is very irritating to

mucous membranes. Application ... to skin may ... give rise to

hypersensitivity reaction ... fever and ... skin eruption. ... Death

following application ... to a third of body surface is said to have

occurred.

[Gosselin, R.E., R.P. , H.C. Hodge. Clinical Toxicology of

Commercial Products. 5th ed. Baltimore: and Wilkins, 1984., p.

III-213]PEER REVIEWED

I do think painting a small area is a good idea though
