Sheila, here is a link to the info in my pill packet

http://emc.medicines.org.uk/emc/assets/c/html/DisplayDoc.asp?

DocumentID=18104

I was interested to see the bit at the end referring to the BTF?

Isn't that the patient side of the BTA? I'm still musing about the

implications of that and am wondering whether all thyroid medication

has the same reference.

Incidentally, I still do not have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism as

my GP has noted he has prescribed my thyroxine trial OUTSIDE

recommended guidelines. I'm told that the guidelines are that no-one

with a TSH less than 10 should be receiving medication. Surely this

means that the British NHS normal range (TSH up to 5.5) is a

complete red-herring and is really TSH up to 10? Are the Europeans

surreptitiously raising their normal ranges too?

Please excuse my confusion but this is a very confusing situation.

Tracey
