Guest guest
not sure, but some of my hypo symptoms returned for a while on Iodoral, then they disappeared. Kind of wierd. I have read that painful scalp is a vitamin D deficiency, so you might want to take high quality cod liver oil, like Carlson's. Gracia Hi Everyone,I have fibrocystic breast disease, a painful scalp and what has been dx as eczema. I started using iodine in the form of kelp drops. All of the above symptoms left within 48 hours when I used it liberally on my face and scalp.I switched to four tablets of Iodoral a day and to using Lugol on my face and scalp. All of my symptoms have returned. Any thoughts as to what has happened? Some other factor in your life has changed. I do know that #1 is true. Kelp has LOTS of stuff in it, not just iodine. Potentially one of those things helped. #2 I don't know ... nor do most people, unless they keep a journal. It's really easy to overlook something simple ... like, changing soaps or handcreams, or eating more bagels that day. -- Heidi >
Guest guest
Your return of symptoms is very interesting. I think I'll finish out this bottle of Iodoral. My face/scalp/breast always ache at the same time. I could never figure that out. It wasn't until I saw a testimonial of Dr. Flechas's web site about a woman who has hypothyroidism and a painful scalp that it clicked. Iodine appears to be part of the answer. But I will experiment with CLO. I take Nordic Naturals and spend a fair amount of time in the sun. I'll switch and spend more time to see what happens. Thank you!! > > > not sure, but some of my hypo symptoms returned for a while on Iodoral, then they disappeared. Kind of wierd. Guest guest
Last week was different. My hours were different, there was much more stress and I ate more sweets than usual. I will keep a journal to see if something else could have caused this. My iodine loading test won't be here until August. There machine was broken and they are way behind. Thanks for your input!! > Two possibilities: > > 1. Kelp has other stuff in it besides iodine > 2. Some other factor in your life has changed. > > I do know that #1 is true. Guest guest
Fascinating, Orelindel. I hope you'll keep us posted on anything else you discover about this. I assume you were using the kelp drops and the Lugol's in the same way. As an experiment, I would love for you to go back and forth between the kelp drops and the Lugol's painted on your face and scalp, maybe switching every week or so. See if the symptoms continue to come and go in the same pattern. Zoe I have fibrocystic breast disease, a painful scalp and what has been dx as eczema. Guest guest
I also had a return of hypo symtoms after being on iodine for a few weeks. It lasted up to 2 weeks then I went back to feeling good. Guest guest
I'm using is different was that when I started on the kelp I wasn't using selenium. I started that when I started on Iodoral. I'll certainly keep you all posted. This is like trying to solve a rubik's cube. : ( > > Fascinating, Orelindel. Guest guest
It's been about a week now. Hopefully, one week to go. Oh, I forgot to mention that while I was at a meeting last week, I was quite warm. I'm normally freezing. Throughout the meeting another lady kept saying, " Can we down the air down. " There were men in the room and they said that the temperature was quite comfortable. My hands were warm. I can't remember ever being so warm. I was so happy. I'm looking forward to reaching the tipping point again. > > I also had a return of hypo symtoms after being on iodine for a few > weeks. Guest guest
I typed this response in the library with my son at my elbow. It's gibberish. What I meant to say is: I wasn't using selenium when I first started using the kelp drops. When I switched to Iodoral tablets I started using using selenium. > > > > Fascinating, Orelindel.
